Reekon and Mortdred come across the lost city of Khemir where all labor was done by robot slaves. Now that the Age of Technology is over there are no robot slaves left to do their bidding. Darkstorm promises new human slaves to the Khemirites if they swear loyalty to him. So, the Darkling Lords and the Khemirites set up a trap on New Valerik, and capture the Spectral Knights to make them slaves.

Episode Quotes |
| |
Cryotek: Leoric, Arzon and Feryl haven't returned from there patrol.
Leoric: Well, knowing those two they're probably joyriding in the Capture Chariot. | Marna: We could try to find our own food in the jungle... And even begin farming for ourselves?
Rone: Marna, this is the Age of Magic, not sweat! Never have Khemirites demeaned their heritage by manual labor - I don't think any of us wish to start now! | Arzon: Can't this thing go any faster? I'd fly, but my wing... arm isn't quite up to it. | Owl of Wisdom: Comfort and wealth matters little, if one is not free. Oh, and watch out behind you. | Marna: A free man surrendering himself into slavery? Even to save his friends? This is too much to ask. | Belizar: Someday, I hope to prove worthy of knighthood, but until then, I would like to stay here and-- and help the free people of New Valarak rebuild what's been destroyed.
Orzan: Mmm, sounds suspiciously like... work. |
