While on a quest for Merklynn, Leoric confesses that he fears Darkstorm's magic power of decay the most. As Darkstorm learns about this the Darkling Lords spring a trap on the Spectral Knights. Darkstorm unleashes his power of decay, and turns Leoric into an old man. Their only hope lie on the Eternal Spring, the only way to reverse the power of decay.

Merklynn: How flattering.
Arzon: Merklynn, I don't suppose you got any magic to counteract the power of Darkstorm's staff so we don't become... er...
Merklynn: (chuckles) Instant Merklynns? What you ask for is far beyond your abilities to handle. But it appears that grubbing for roots is not. May I trouble you for the sacks?
Cryotek: Wait a minute! We help you with these, why don't you help us?
Merklynn: I am by not giving you the magic, but you're too young and foolish to realize it. (takes the sacks from them) Immature whippersnappers!
 
(Virulina is flying the Sky Claw)
Mortdredd: Are you sure you now how to drive this thing, Virulina?
Virulina: Yes, Mortdredd. Now it's time to go bye-bye!
Mortdredd: Well, I-I-I'm not sure this is such a great idea!
(Virulina spinns the Sky Claw and Mortdredd falls over)
Virulina: You've just been overruled!!
 
Feryl: Hello, Mr. Bug, feel like going for ride?
(Mortdredd turns back)
Mortdredd: It's beetle, not bug! And you're going for a ride!
 
Darkstorm: (to Lexor) Sometimes you aren't as useless as you look!
 
Mortdredd: Oh, great Darkstorm, thanks to your brilliant plan – and my diversion – Leoric, leader of the Spectral Knights, has been turned into a weak and trembling old man.
Darkstorm: And once I have destroyed the Eternal Spring, he will be condemned to that condition FOREVER!!!
 
Leoric: Ironic, isn't it? That the only reason this happened is because I was trying to prevent it from happening...
 
Leoric: Oh, great Owl of Wisdom, are we really as stupid as Merklynn says we are?
Owl of Wisdom: Leoric, you are brave but not yet wise, for there is a power in wisdom over which age has no dominium.
Leoric: Wonderful. But for now I'm old and week and--
Owl of Wisdom: And stupid.
 
Arzon: (spotting the Spider of Fear) Friends, we're in bug trouble!
 
Feryl: Leoric, you may not be as strong as you used to be, but your brain is still working – your plan saved us all!
Leoric: But my weakness nearly got Arzon killed.
Arzon: Nearly doesn't count.
 
Arzon: Look! What's that up there?
Witterquick: Remember Arzon, not everyone has eagle eyes! I'll go take a look.
 
Leoric: Maybe I'm not so stupid. I've got a plan. My Staff spoke of a power in wisdom, and the wisdom I'm beginning to learn is not to fight my weakness but to look for the strength hidden within it. Yes, my weakness prevents us from climbing up to the cave, but my wisdom tells me power will be found by going down.
 
Darkstorm: Why did you come here?
Arzon: We hoped to find more magic water to help Leoric.
Galadria: But we found nothing!
Cravex: Don't feel too bad. Leoric and Feryl took a little dive off the edge of the mountain. I've got a feeling neither one of them will be thirsty again!!!
 
Virulina: Darkstorm, when we put the Spectral Knights is the magical dungeon, can I pull the switch?
 
Darkstorm: Do I have your word if I restore Leoric you will leave me unharmed?
Feryl: You have my word to destroy your totem if you double-cross us! But if you restore Leoric, yes you will be unharmed!
 
Leoric: Being old doesn't mean being weak and feeble. Being old means having the power of wisdom - worth more than the inexperience of youth.
 
 
Episode Goofs
  
Continuity After Arzon uses his Power Staff, he mounts the Lancer Cycle and we can see the Bearer of Knowledge in his staff again.
 
Continuity Just before the Lancer Cycle crashed against the Dagger Assault, we can see that the Bearer of Knowledge is back on Arzon's Power Staff.
 
Continuity After Leoric becomes older, Cryotek has the image of Strength back on his staff, which was worn out.
 
Continuity After Cravex uses his Power Staff, the image of the Spider of Fear is back on the staff.
 
Continuity When old Leoric turns into the Lion, the Owl of Wisdom is back on this Power Staff.
 
Continuity When Cravex is gloating about his deed, the image of the Spider of Fear is again on the staff.
