In a hotel room in Las Vegas, Pete struggles with Myka, who knocks him out.
Fourteen hours earlier, Artie has Pete, Myka, and Claudia inventorying artifacts in the warehouse while he argues with Leena over the fact that MacPherson recently tried to kill him. Artie insists on dealing with MacPherson himself but Leena warns that he's dangerous and Mrs. Frederic is looking into the matter.
Down on the warehouse floor, Pete has taken time off to play ping pong against his reflection in the Lewis Carroll mirror. Myka snaps at him and Pete figures that she' mad at Artie, not him, and taking out her frustrations. When he starts teasing her over her father issues, Myka shoves him and he knocks over the mirror. It starts to fall, knocking Pete back into a disco ball. It goes off as Myka struggles to hold the mirror up and stares into her reflection. Artie, Leena, and Claudia come running as the disco ball shuts off. Myka, shocked, walks away.
Later, Artie calls a meeting at Leena's bed & breakfast. Leena tries to talk to Myka privately about her concerns about Artie's secrecy. Myka tells her that she's decided to just relax and take things as they come. Pete and Claudia show up, fighting over a video game, and Artie breaks them up and Myka takes his side, much to his surprise. He tells them about their new mission. Gary and Jillian Whitman are petty conmen who have recently been winning consistently at casinos across the country. Artie figures that they're using an artifact, and gives them $10,000 in expense money to gamble at the tables as part of their cover. As the agents leave, Artie privately asks Pete if Myka is still mad at him. Pete says that he is but figures that their mission to Las Vegas should help her relax. Once they're gone, Claudia suggests that she locate MacPherson since Artie has been ordered not to. Artie snaps at her, warning that his old partner is dangerous and she's not to get involved.
Pete goes to get Myka at her hotel room and discovers her wearing a slinky dress and perfume. She doesn't explain why she's decided to dress up suddenly. Myka has deduced that there's a single artifact involved and the Whitmans have to carry it with them to affect probabilities. Pete hands out their newly-cleaned earpieces and complains that he lost the toss and she got the Tesla gun while he ended up with the Farnsworth.
As Artie and Claudia put the disco ball back, Artie explains that it came from Studio 54 and projects yearnings and cravings. He apologizes to Claudia for snapping at her earlier as they stand the mirror back up. However, they notice something wrong: Myka's reflection is trapped in the mirror.
In Las Vegas, the Whitmans are gambling. Gary is placing the bets and Jillian, noticing a burn on his hand, says that they've got enough money. Gary insists they can't have enough money to raise their future family and plans to continue a little longer. The agents spot them and Pete goes to search their room while Myka watches them.
At the warehouse, Artie takes the Lewis Carroll mirror to his office and calls Leena in to see if she can get an empathic reading to determine if the image is alive or not. She's unable to get a reading through the glass and Artie insists that it's too dangerous to tamper with further. They contact Pete at the hotel via the Farnsworth as he searches the Whitmans' room. He tells them that he hasn't got a bad vibe off of anything. They're unaware that Myka is listening in via the earpiece radio but Artie doesn't mention what they've found in the mirror.
As Pete finishes searching the hotel room, Myka notices that Gary is holding a gold casino token. When Pete calls her, Myka says that she hasn't seen anything unusual.
At the warehouse, Claudia builds an improvised laser mike and suggests they use it to communicate with the image. Artie initially refuses but Claudia insists that she's seen the look of someone sincerely trapped before, and that the Myka image has the same look.
Pete goes back to the casino and sees Gary holding his burned hand. He spots Myka watching the Whitmans from the balcony and goes up to talk to her. She suggests that he go to bed if he's tired and she'll keep an eye on the conmen, but Pete says they should both stay on duty.
Artie finally lets Claudia use the laser mike. The Myka reflection claims she's the real thing and is ready to kick Artie once she gets out of the mirror. He turns off the laser mike and insists that it's some kind of trick. He goes through the files on Lewis Carroll with Leena and they learn that Carroll was documenting Alice Liddell, who was a real-life psychopath. Agents in the 19th century somehow trapped her within the mirror after she went on a killing spree. Artie insists that Alice must have merged with Myka's reflection and is trying to trick them into freeing her but, he refuses to endanger them by talking further with the image.
As Jillian and Gary go back to their hotel room, the agents follow them. When Gary gives Jillian the coin and tells her to earn the rest of their money, she walks back and Myka grabs Pete and kisses him as cover. As they kiss, Myka steals the Farnsworth from Pete's pocket. Once Jillian has gone past, Myka tells Pete to follow her while she checks on Gary.
At the warehouse, Leena and Claudia wonder if the disco ball somehow interacted with the mirror, causing Alice and Myka to switch places. Artie is skeptical until he remembers that Myka tends to crane her head to the right when she's angry at him: the same way the Myka reflection does.
At the hotel, Pete approaches Jillian at the casino. He tries to hit on her at the craps table but she ignores him and fingers the coin. It leaves a burn mark on her hand but gives her the ability to see the future and tell what number will come up next.
Artie uses the laser mike to reestablish communication with the Myka reflection. It talks about how she feels betrayed by Artie because he won't trust her and treats her and Pete as expendable. She admits that she likes him and wants him to like her. Touched, Artie realizes that she's telling the truth and is the real thing.
The false Myka knocks on Gary's door and tries to get in, pretending she's drunk. Gary sees through her deception so Alice slams him into the room and warns him he had his chance to do things peacefully.
Artie calls Alice on the Farnsworth and asks how things are doing. She tries to bluff and Artie asks the name of her pet ferret, the one she summoned from the wishing cooking pot. Alice tries to avoid answering the question and hangs up. The trio at the warehouse is relieved to learn that their suspicions are confirmed, but Artie warns that if Alice realizes they know her secret, she'll kill Pete.
Pete approaches Jillian again and tells her that he knows about the artifact. He warns her that she and Gary are putting their lives in danger every time they use the token, which is highly addictive. As he takes it, he inadvertently activates it and gets a brief glimpse of a future collision in the casino. When it comes true a few seconds later, Pete admits he understands how one could get addicted to using the coin.
At the warehouse, Artie and the others figure that Alice is listening in on their conversations via the earpiece, and that she has the Farnsworth. Claudia suggests they page Pete at the hotel.
Jillian explains that she and Gary stole the token from a man who claimed it helped him surviving a burning house. Pete convinces her that it's dangerous and she turns it over to him to put in a neutralizer bag. As he puts it away, he hears his name announced on the courtesy phone loudspeaker.
In the hotel room, Alice is preparing to torture Gary to learn where the token is. She explains that with it, she'll be undefeatable and no one will be able to get close enough to her to put her back in the mirror. When Gary tries to break free, Alice shoots him with the Tesla gun. Before she can check him, Pete bursts in. He checks the stunned Gary and tells him to play dead, since Alice is unaware of the Tesla gun's full effect. He then confronts Alice, accusing her of killing Gary, and explains that he knows who she really is. When she wonders how he figured it out, Pete points out that the real Myka would never kiss her, even if her life depended on it. He plans to take her back to the warehouse but Alice warns that the only way to get something out of the mirror is by making a switch. He tries to take her captive but sees Alice's reflection in the mirror, showing the real her. Startled, Alice manages to get the drop on him and shoot him with the Tesla. Thinking Pete and Gary are both dead, Alice leaves.
Alice drives to the warehouse and uses the coin to foretell the future and see how to get through the security systems. Once inside, she gets a hammer and prepares to smash the mirror. Much to her surprise, Pete arrives and distracts her by hitting her with ping pong balls. Artie is there, hiding, and shoots a flare gun. Leena and Claudia are on the office balcony with the laser mike. When they see the signal, they fire the laser mike into the disco ball. It goes off, reversing the transformation and forcing Alice back into the mirror. The real Myka emerges. As Artie has them cover it up so he can take it to the Dark Vault, Pete tries to explain that he spent all the expense money to book a jet flight back to the warehouse…
