In 1944 at the Wichita Army Proving Grounds, Project Gemini is underway. Buck Mendell from Warehouse 13 arrives to stop the Farnsworth demonstration only to discover he's too late when an explosion shatters a nearby building.
Mrs. Frederic comes to see Leena and notices that Claudia has left out the original plans for the Farnsworth communication devices. As Leena begins to describe her symptoms, Mr. Valda of the Regents arrives. He explains that MacPherson may have left something behind when he tampered with her mind using the Pearl of Wisdom. Valda brings in a woman, Taka, to help them figure out what's wrong.
In town, Pete and Myka arrive at Univille's post office and the townspeople continue to ignore Pete despite his best efforts to make friends. Brenda, the head of the post office, closes the building due to cutbacks, and tells them to go to the next nearest town, Featherhead. She storms off to watch movies and eat popcorn because she's been force-retired, and Myka tells Pete to call Featherhead.
Claudia is busy upgrading her Farnsworth when Artie discovers what she's doing and isn't happy. He tells her to seal it back up and as he walks away, it gives off a screeching noise.
In town, Pete's Farnsworth makes the same screeching noise. He's had no luck trying to get hold of the post office in Farnsworth. A veterinarian, Kelly Hernandez, watches them go and sees a flash of light, and then notices several Marines walking by in jungle uniforms.
At the warehouse, Artie gets a SOS signal and realizes there's something wrong in town. He calls Pete and Myka and tells them to meet him at the barber's shop. Artie and Claudia arrive and explain that Claudia was messing with her Farnsworth. Artie scans the barber shop pole and confirms there's an artifact somewhere in Univille. He figures MacPherson or Wells placed an artifact there to cause trouble. Artie sends everyone out to questions the townspeople, find the artifact, and recover it, all while posing as IRS agents. The townspeople think Warehouse 13 is an IRS storage facility. Artie goes to check the scanner to turn up nearby artifacts.
At the B&B, Taka prepares to use the Pearl of Wisdom. Mrs. Frederic warns against it but Valda insists that speed is of the essence and they need to learn who they're up against. Leena insists on doing so and Valda thanks her, assuring Mrs. Frederic that Taka will protect Leena against harm.
Pete and Myka talk to Kelly, who describes the Marines that she saw. She remembers seeing a wolf's head patch, and wonders what it has to do with her taxes. Kelly admits that there are regular power outages and blames them, and Pete takes offense.
Claudia goes to the hardware store and runs into the cute clerk, Todd. Impressed, she asks for a detailed list of equipment. While Todd gets it, he explains that he just moved to Univille and directs her away from the owner's apartment because he's private. Claudia's Farnsworth screeches again and she runs outside... where she sees a cowboy galloping down the street on his horse in a blaze of energy that causes the buildings to briefly transform into Old West structures. She gets out the way just in time and the rider disappears a few seconds later.
As Pete and Myka continue canvassing the area, they find themselves in the middle of a gunfight between the sheriff and three outlaws. The agents duck to the ground and the gunfighters disappear.
The team returns to the warehouse and Claudia and Artie argue about whether she caused problems. Myka breaks them up and they triangulate the sighting and narrow it down to a four-square-block area where a possible artifact might be causing the problems. They head back into Univille to conduct the search.
Taka uses a piece of amber to scan Leena's mind via the Pearl of Wisdom once it is placed back in her ear. The amber reveals Leena's thoughts and memories.
The agents pick up a power surge from the hardware store and figure the mysterious owner is involved. As they in, their Farnsworths squeal again. Inside, there's another flash of light and Todd finds himself facing a tiger and a gladiator. He runs outside, screaming, and Claudia mistakes him for a bad guy and knocks him out. Claudia runs into the back room and discovers the agents have found the hardware store owner's secret video piracy equipment. She tells them what happened and they find the unconscious Todd and a dead tiger. The gladiator is standing over it and gives a speech about freedom that Pete finds familiar. Pete also realizes the gladiator is the same person as the cowboy. The gladiator throws his shield at Pete and then charges at them but disappears just in time.
At the B&B, Frederic tells Valda to stop chasing shadows, but he insists there's something there. Taka warns that there is risk in going deeper, and Mrs. Frederic insists on taking over, warning that Taka is out of her depth. McPherson's memories speak through Leena, and Valda demands answers.
Claudia takes Todd to Kelly's office for treatment. When she decides to give him the truth, he doesn't believe it. Meanwhile, Kelly tends to Pete's head and they argue. Once she leaves, the agents try to figure out the connection, and Myka decides to track down aggressive frequencies. The Farnsworths are reacting to the signal before it materializes into an individual, and they ask Claudia to rewire them into tracking devices.
Claudia goes back to the warehouse and Artie takes her to the Farnsworth section. He starts getting the components that she needs while making sure she doesn't touch anything. When Claudia insults him, he invites her to touch the more dangerous things and walks off, and she relents.
Pete and Myka continue looking for the artifact and Pete realizes that the Marines' wolf patch is significant because Marines don't wear patches. He runs off and Myka goes after him.
Claudia finishes rewiring the Farnsworths and gets the car keys from Artie. As she goes, she warns that Item 186 has two parts, but one of them is missing from the shelves. The manifest doesn't say where it is and the records show that it was never stored.
Myka and Pete talk to Kelly, who confirms the wolf patch was spitting fire. Pete asks her to stay inside and be careful, and she reluctantly agrees. He then explains that the patch was from a 1940s movie starring Raymond St. James, and St. James was also in cowboy and gladiator movies.
Artie checks the 1944 records and finds the information on Project Gemini. Philo Farnsworth was conducting an experiment for the government concerning a transmutational delivery camera that would send and duplicate images into actual objects. Farnsworth created a projector camera, but projector never made it to Warehouse 13. The shipping label in the photo is torn off, meaning it didn't get delivered properly. Artie goes back to the floor and finds the three-dimensional camera. The projector is the part that's missing.
Claudia arrives in town and gives the modified Farnsworths to the agents. They get a signal and start following it, but realize that it shows that Kelly's office will be the site of the next manifestation. Pete convinces her to open up, and they tell her to get out while they go in the back office. There's a burst of light and Raymond St. James runs by, playing the role of a private investigator. His character is shot and there's no way to intervene. Peter realizes that the scenes are airing in the same order as the original movies, and the next one is
Dr. Doomsday St. James plays a mad scientist who blows up the entire town.
Artie meets the agents and explains that during the test, a 3-D holographic projection tank became real and shelled the observers. He figure that it got lost at the post office. They break in and start searching, while trying to figure out what the pattern is. Myka finds an open crate with the shipping label. They remember that Brenda said earlier she as going to watch some movies.
At home, Brenda is watching the St. James marathon in 3-d on the projection camera. As she makes some more popcorn, the agents come in.
At the B&B, Taka explains a personality impression of MacPherson is caught in Leela's mind. She directs Mrs. Frederic to erase the impression before it drives Leena mind. Using the amber sphere and her own abilities, Mrs. Frederic manages to cure Leena.
Brenda insists that she didn't do anything wrong. Artie and Claudia realize that the camera is self-powering, the same way as the Farnsworth. Pete watches the movie as the scientist prepares to detonate his bomb. Artie tries to shut down the camera and succeeds. When Brenda starts microwaving her popcorn, they realize that microwaves are powering the camera, and there's no way they can shut down every microwave signal in the town.
As they get the camera down the street, it activates and Dr. Doomsday appears with his bomb. Artie warns that when the bomb goes off in the movie, it will go off for real. Artie suggests that they use the camera to send a harmless image. As he and Claudia go to get the camera from the car, Pete realizes they have a three-minute monologue before the bomb. Fortunately, the movie cuts to commercials.
As Claudia and Artie drive away with the camera, Todd shows up with the parts that Claudia ordered, but they drive off without him.
Pete and Myka have no choice but to take on Dr. Doomsday's robots. Unfortunately, Pete forgets that it has magnets. Artie and Claudia arrive and he tells her to focus the camera on something benign. However, Claudia discovers that the camera is fried after the 1944 explosion. Artie tries to cannibalize the Farnsworths but there's too much damage. Todd arrives with the parts and Claudia realizes that they are just what they need. She and Artie repair the camera but realize that Farnsworth changed the signature. She needs the blueprints. Fortunately, Myka read them earlier and has photographic memory. She talks Claudia through the rewiring procedure, but they're missing a fusible link. Pete and Artie get the link out of the car battery and repair the camera. They capture a benign image just in time: Artie.
Later, Claudia is at the B&B tampering with the Tesla, and Leena suggests that she shouldn't tell Artie. Myka comments that Todd is cute and Claudia prepares to make a hasty exit. However, Pete arrives with popcorn and an invitation to join him for a Raymond St. James movie. Artie arrives and informs them that both parts are in storage. The others go upstairs and Myka continues to discuss Todd. Meanwhile, Mrs. Frederic notices that Leena was drawing a horseshoe shape, and remembers that Taka warned something of MacPherson might be left behind.
