Artie is chasing a beetle artifact through the warehouse while Pete looks on and talks to Steve and Claudia via Farnsworth. They are at a Civil War reenactment in Shiloh, Tennessee, looking for U.S. Grant’s flask. Pete asks them where the marshmallows that Artie wants are, but quickly cuts off when he realizes that Artie is listening. Artie complains that Pete isn’t helping him and loses the beetle. As he runs off after it, Leena calls and tells Pete that his ex-wife is there to see him...

Episode Quotes
Artie: Artie’s Law of Artifacts states that the worst thing that can happen with an artifact will happen with an artifact.

Claudia: So what about you? What's your story.
Steven Jinks: You know my story. ATF, Jimi Hendrix's guitar, and the first time I saw Artie's eyebrows.

Amanda Lattimer: Pete, if this is about me getting remarried...
Pete: Wait, wait, whoa. What? No, okay. Scout's honor.
Amanda Lattimer: You were kicked out of the Scouts when you were ten.
Pete: I did not start that fire.

Cultural References
Title: Queen for a Day

Queen for a Day was a 50s/60s TV game show where housewives vied to tell the audience the most pathetic story of their lives so that they could be awarded the title "Queen for a Day."

Pete: Talk to me, Goose.

Goose (and Maverick, Pete's chosen nickname) are the fighter-pilot designations of Anthony Edward's and Tom Cruise's characters in the movie Top Gun (1986).

Steven Jinks: Why do I feel like Laverne?

Laverne & Shirley was a 70s-80s spinoff of Happy Days, featuring Laverne De Fazio and Shirley Feeney.

Amanda Lattimer: It takes two to screw up a tango.
Pete: Yeah, well I was never really much of a Pacino.

In Scent of a Woman (1992), Al Pacino dances the tango while portraying a blind Army colonel.

Pete: You think that guy looks like me with the hair, and the square jaw, and the Captain America attitude.

Captain America is a Marvel Comic superhero, dating back to the Timely Comic era. Chemically developed to be the ultimate fighting man, Cap has survived to the present-day and fights with the Avengers. He starred in a feature movie just before this episode premiered.
