Waterloo Road

Waterloo Road

Waterloo Road Comprehensive is on the scrap heap. It can be found very near the bottom of every league table there is. Its despondent teachers have given up trying to make a difference as they struggle to cope with their own personal problems as well as their nightmare day jobs.

The show was set in a comprehensive school in Rochdale for it's first seven series, however it moved to Scotland at the end of the seventh series. It is now a new independent school led by some of the staff from Rochdale and was set up with a boarding house, meaning some of the old pupils could also make the move.

The new school was featured as the main location from the start of series 8 in September 2012. 30 episodes are planned for the eighth series all together with the first block of ten ending in October 2012. The second block began airing in January 2013. Additionally 20 episodes have been announced for the ninth series.
