From Trauma Cometh Something - Recap

The scene opens with Nancy trying to sleep while her roommate is sex-talking with her boyfriend and telling him to do nasty things with the blender. She grabs the phone from her roommate and tells that she doesn’t want her to talk late at night and takes out the batteries and tosses them out the window. The next morning, Ed tells Nancy’s roommate that they have had another phone gone missing. Nancy goes up to Ed and tells that she needs more time out to get a job. He tells that she has an interview lined up at a Lamp Repair shop and that she needs to change her clothes. She asks where she is going to get appropriate clothes. He shows her a closet of clothing that was donated by the Baptist Church. Nancy is not happy with the selection, but manages to pick one.

Nancy calls a man named Sarge about the grenades and tells that she will be at his place in an hour and a half. She goes downstairs and sees that Andy, Silas, Doug and Shane are there. She peeks around the corner and Silas sees her. She runs out the back door and trips the alarm. The front desk says that happens all the time and tells them to wait downstairs. Silas comes back inside and tells that Nancy fled away from them and Andy says that is normal and that is what they Botwins do. Silas says that he is going to go look to start his career. Doug says that he is going to go meet an old colleague. Shane says that they should have stayed in Copenhagen. Andy tells Shane to follow him. Meanwhile, Nancy goes to a building and goes to the roof. She takes the suitcase full of grenades and goes on the subway. Two women look at Nancy’s clothes and one asks her friend if Nancy’s jack is ironic. Nancy says that it is.

Nancy goes to her job interview and the manager is touching the suitcase of grenades. She tells him not to touch it and he sways it back and forth. When he tries to open the bag, Nancy jumps over and knocks over the table of Lamps. She realizes that she didn’t get the job and the manager tells her that she is too nervous for Lamp Repair. Back at the halfway house, Shane and Andy sneak upstairs to Nancy’s room. They go through her things and the roommates things. Andy finds things that Nancy’s roommate has stolen. Nancy’s roommate comes in and asks what they are doing. Andy says that they were just looking at Nancy’s things. She sees that her drawer is open and tells that they better not tell what they saw. Andy gets attracted to the woman and tells that he misses American women. Ed finds them and tells them to come with him.

Nancy gets to Sarge’s apartment and hides the suitcase in the Utility Closet. She takes one grenade out of the bag. She is invited in and she tells that she will trade the grenades for weed. She tells that she heard that he could get good marijuana from Pakistan. He says that he can get her a pound a week. She tries to tell him 10 pounds, but he says that he could only do one. He asks if she wants to try the marijuana first. She says that she shouldn’t, but does anyway. Meanwhile, Silas tries to get with a modeling agency, but they tell him that he is too scrawny for the job. After he tells that he will do “anything”, the agent tells that she will cycle Silas’s profile around and see if anyone bites.

Back at the halfway house, Andy and Shane sit down with Ed. He tells that he doubts that Nancy has changed for the better and tells that prison changes you. He tells that he is going to play a video for them so that they can understand. Suddenly a fight breaks out and a woman is escorted out. Back at Sarge’s place, Nancy is stoned and tells that she ran away because she didn’t want them to see her like she was in. She says that Sarge smells like his sister Zoria. Meanwhile, Doug meets with his old friend and he asks if he plays Racketball. He says that he does and he asks Doug if he is still in the game and he says that he is out. His friend tells Doug that he should come by his office. He agrees. Back at Sarge’s place, Nancy is still hanging around and she sees what time it is. She tells that she has to go and he tells that he wants the grenades for the weed.

Nancy goes and drops off the grenades at the building and gets back to the halfway house. She signs in and is still stoned. The front desk realizes something is going on. Nancy sees Shane and Andy there and tells them that she has missed them. She asks where Silas is and Andy tells that they have to get her out of there and Andy realizes that Nancy is stoned. He smells her hand and asks when she started smoking. She asks why she avoided them and she tells that she was nervous. Ed comes up behind her and knows that she is high. She drags her off and tells that she is going to take a drug test now. The episode ends.
