Week One - Recap

After the auditions, 13 finalists are whisked away to a secret location. Each one is introduced as they step out of their limousine: Levity, Rotiart, Creature, Major Victory, Iron Enforcer, Monkey Woman, Fat Momma, Nitro G, Cell Phone Girl, Feedback, Tyveculus and Lemuria (who was chosen by scifi.com fans as the final contestant).

With everyone together, they drink and party only for Stan to appear on a screen telling the wannabe superheroes that this is serious business. He's spent his life creating superheroes and they don't act like that. He informs them of an address that will be their new lair and to commit it to memory as they set out to find it.

Upon arrival, Stan reveals there is a spy amongst the contestants who has been put there to make sure everyone is here for the right reasons. After a short delay, Rotiart steps forward and pulls off his name tag to show another name - Traitor - Rotiart spelt backwards. He's been watching everyone and recording their conversations. Video clips are shown of Levity talking about making custom action figures that he sells for $300-500 each and if he won the show, he could make a lot of money making figures of himself, Creature flirting with the male contestants and the Iron Enforcer talking about killing people. It's time for an elimination and it's going to be one of these three to leave. The one who won't be entering the lair is... Levity. He's asked to turn in his costume in a trashcan. After saying his goodbyes, Rotiart escorts Levity off the premises.

The contestants are asked to proceed to the lair using what looks like an old, rickety elevator. To everyone's surprise, the lair is fantastic. As the heroes share a meal, Stan gives them a personal communicator so that he can contact them. He tells them tomorrow they must wear their ordinary clothes for their first task.

The task each person has to complete is to find a place to change into their costume without anyone noticing then run as fast as they can to the finish line. Whoever completes the task the fastest in true superhero-like fashion wins the challenge. First up is Feedback who disappears behind a wall to change. When he's ready, he races out towards the finish line at the purple arches. A little girl close by is crying, she's lost and wants her mother. Feedback appears and runs past as the girl cries for help. Next up are Fat Momma, Tyveculus and Cell Phone Girl. Tyveculus pulls out a portable toilet so he can change behind it. As Cell Phone Girl runs past the crying girl, she stops in her tracks and walks back to help her out. Once Tyveculus is in costume, he runs towards the purple arches without helping the girl. Fat Momma immediately stops for the little girl and takes her to the nearby security office. Monkey Woman and Iron Enforcer fail to stop for the crying girl whilst Lemuria does stop for her. Nitro G and Creature also race to the arches without stopping. Major Victory runs and prances his way towards the arches before stopping to help the girl. He tells her to climb into his arms and reassures her she'll see her mom again as he takes her to the security office. Major Victory state he may not have had the fastest time today but he felt like a winner not a wiener. At the end, Stan informs the superheroes of the real challenge, to stop for the little girl who obviously needed help.

Another elimination takes place on the rooftop above the lair where three people are picked and given a chance to explain why they should stay. Nitro G didn't stop for the girl and he got changed into his costume out in the open for everyone to see therefore he is the first one up. Next is Monkey Woman who appeared to glance at the girl but carried on running. Finally, Iron Enforcer is asked to step onto the last red cube. Not only did he ignore the girl but Stan is concerned about his remark regarding killing people. Nitro G and Monkey Woman insist they will not let Stan down again whilst Iron Enforcer claims he was focused on the mission and that he really is a caring person. The second person to be eliminated is... Nitro G. Stan tells him he has some growing up to do but he's sure that he'll see him again. Nitro G turns in his costume and leaves.
