Mr. Stein, the long-absent senior partner of Will's firm, shows up unexpectedly to reassume command and whip the troops into shape. Episode Notes

This is the first appearance of Will's other boss since Will began working at the law offices of Doucette & Stein. Mr. Stein announces that Ben Doucette has retired. The addition of this character into the world of "W&G" was made after a fans asked "what's going to happen to the firm now that Hines is gone?" The firm wasn't used much in Season's 3 and 4 for this reason, but was brought back as a regular location after the introduction of Stein.

Staff writer Kari Lizer reprised her role as Connie, but was uncredited.

Gene Wilder won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor for his portrayal of Mr. Stein.

Originally aired as a one hour episode, though syndication will usually air them in two half hour episodes. NBC counts this as one episode, as they will with any W&G episodes that air as a one hour episode. This may also include Super-Sized (40 minute episodes).

Stein: Will, I wanna thank you from the heart of my bottom. No. Wait. Strike that. Reverse it.

Episode Goofs

When Grace and Jack are looking for Karen, Grace points to Karen's limo and identifies it by the 'red, green and yellow' mark where the limo once hit a clown, but in the shot of the limo the mark is clearly red, blue and yellow
