Will, Karen, and a star struck Grace travel to Los Angeles to support Jack as he accepts a HAPI award for Best Local Cable Gay Talk Show Host. Coincidently, Will runs into James while in LA, but to his surprise James is Canadian and in jeopardy of being deported. After spending a perfect weekend together, Will and James find that they don't have to say good-bye to each other again when Grace makes a special proposal.
In this episode, Grace asks James to marry her so that he can stay in the U.S. Plus, Will and James actually have a real, passionate kiss.
We find out that James' last name is Hansen.
Elliot: Jack, you think we can go up to our room? I want to be early for our campus tour.
Jack: Yeah, you're gonna love our room. I requested a view of the Hollywood Hills, so if it rains we can watch all the homes slide down the hill.
Will:Hey, look at that couple. That one guy is so much cuter than the other guy. Miss-Match!
James: Oh look, they're pointing at us too,
Will: Stop looking at them!
Jack: Maybe he's right? I'm not his father.
Karen: Oh Jackie, listen. Every parent goes through this. When I lost Mason in Egypt for four weeks, I'll be honest, I doubted myself. I didn't think that there was any way that he would every again think that I was a good mother. But when he rang our doorbell that day covered in stickers, all was forgiven.
Grace: I'm Grace, by the way.
James: Oh, Will told me you were funny.
Grace: Oh, sweet.
James: That's why I didn't think it was you.
Jack's ring tone is "Ring My Bell", as made famous in the 70's by Anita Ward.
Grace: Mama's gonna doll out some justice up in here!
A quick reference to the film "Big Mama's House 2."
Grace: Tera Reid, dropped her martini in the pool... and now she's drinking the water.
A quick and funny reference to the drinking problems of actress Tera Reid.
