• $3.6M fine for "indecent" Without A Trace episode

The FCC fined 111 CBS stations and affiliates $3.63 million for a December 31, 2004 repeat of the second season episode "Our Sons and Daughters" that showed "teenagers engaged in various sexual activities, including sex between couples and among members of a group." The fine is the largest fine yet proposed by the FCC. This fine only affects the broadcasts of the episode in the Central and Mountain time zones, since, because of general prime time scheduling, those affiliates showed the episode at 9p.m. - before 10p.m., after which indecent material is allowed to be shown on broadcast television.
