Alex wishes to go to the Crazy 10 Minute Sale, but her plans take a detour when her father doesn’t allow her to drop magic lessons. In order to go anyway, she decides to duplicate herself, but Max’s new wand has some weird powers that can control Alex and her duplicate. Meanwhile, Max and Justin both struggle to keep Jerry from finding out that they broke his precious wand.

Meanwhile, a representative from the New York Mets really takes a shine to Max’s own sandwich and says it can become the official sandwich of the team. The only problem is that Max doesn’t remember how he created it.

And since Alex ratted them out for playing paintball, the time for revenge is whenever possible.

Alex befriends a student named T.J. after seeing him using magic. But she is shocked to learn that his parents are comfortable with him using magic anytime he wants while hers are so strict and by-the-book. However, it turns out T.J. has cast a spell on his own parents using a chocolate chip cake, and he does the same with the Russo parents. Meanwhile, Alex, Justin and Max go on an adventure to Mars, but they forget Max there and when he finds the Mars Rover and fixes it, they must hide their identities so they don’t get exposed to the media as wizards.

Meanwhile, after Jerry misunderstands his ironic statement, Justin tries to find all sorts of “man-stuff” to cover up the girly wallpaper he is now stuck with.

When Alex decides to take a short cut on her Art History assignment, she brings historical masterpieces to life such as the Mona Lisa, Blue Boy and even the Scream in order to answer the questions on her work sheet correctly. Ultimately she needs Justin to help her with the second half of the spell which replaces the art figures to their canvas’ by stating specific details. Meanwhile, Jerry and Max use a spell that allows the football they’re tossing around to pass right through things. When it accidentally lands in Theresa’s dinner soup, the spell works on Jerry, Max and Theresa too allowing them to play chase running right through the furniture.
