Justin has just started dating Miranda from his class, but he has troubles relaxing in the relationship and is scared of the thought of kissing. Alex offers her help to him so he still has a chance and she doesn’t break up, but when she uses a spell that rewinds time, they rewind more than just the failed kisses. Meanwhile, a representative from the New York Mets really takes a shine to Max’s own sandwich and says it can become the official sandwich of the team. The only problem is that Max doesn’t remember how he created it.

Episode Notes
Spells: McReary TimeReary - The ability to rewind a short time period.

In this episode, Alex "stole" 15 dollars using the same scam over and over again, once on her Dad and twice on her brother.

This episode marks the first time we actually understand how big a crush Harper has on Justin.

This episode marks the first time both Alex and Justin have their first kisses. Justin finally kisses Miranda after 18 failed kisses, while Alex just walks over to Matt and kisses him without any trouble.

Episode Quotes
Alex: Now here's what you're gonna do. First, take out 5 dollars.
(Justin takes out 5 dollars from his pocket and Alex takes them.)
Justin: Why?
Alex: I need 5 dollars...

Alex: For example, Dad, do you have 5 dollars?
(Jerry takes out 5 dollars from his pocket and Alex takes them.)
Jerry: Why?
Alex: 'Cause I need 5 dollars. Deja vu, huh, Justin?

Episode Goofs
In this episode, Justin has a girlfriend, Miranda. But eight episodes later, "Pop Me And We Both Go Down," Justin starts dating this new girl from his class, who's actually the same Miranda. This doesn't make any sense. How is she a new student and how could they just meet if they were dating eight episodes ago?

Cultural References
Visual: Miranda has a Gothic lifestyle.

Miranda, Justin's new girlfriend, seems to be obsessed with the color black. This is an obvious reference to her being a female Goth.

Jeff Malone (representative for New York Mets): We're considering local (restaurants) to provide the official sandwich of the New York Mets...!

The New York Mets are a professional baseball team located in the borough of Queens in New York City.

Max: What's Deja Vu?

Just like Jerry explains it, Deja Vu (also called Paramnesia and Promnesia) is when a person is sure that he or she has experienced a new situation before.

Analysis
Although it's only the partial plotline of the episode, Max's own sandwich ("To The Max") has double meanings. One is of course a reference to his name, while the other refers to the sandwich being really awesome, as in "To The Maximum" (of deliciousness).
