Episode Quotes
Alex: Failing Spanish is hard work!
Theresa: Don't worry, honey, I'm gonna help you with your espanol.
Alex: OK, that's fine, but I really need help with my Spanish too.
Theresa: Espanol is Spanish...
Alex: Espanol is Spanish for what?
Theresa: This is gonna be hard...
Alex: But my test is tomorrow and if I don't pass, I won't be able to go on my date with Riley on Friday.
Theresa: I know, honey. Maybe we can bake cookeys on Friday...
Episode Goofs
When Max gives chocolate to the pocket elf on Alex's bag, the elf stands on one specific position of the bag. However, a few moments later, the animation of the elf has screwed up and the elf is now standing in mid-air another place on the screen while the actors playing Justin and Max are still looking at the place it was a few moments ago.
Cultural References
Riley: A bunch of us are going to this cool restaurant, Medium Rare, on Friday night. Wanna come?
The name of the (fake) restaurant is a parody of "medium rare", one of the temperatures meat can have. Medium rare is often described as having a warm red center and being firmer than other temperatures.
Alex: ... the boys were playing Paintball...
Paintball is a popular sport where players (either individuals or teams) compete against each other. What they do is that they hide from each other while trying to eliminate other players by shooting them with pellets filled with paint.
Analysis
There's a hidden message in the title of this episode. "I Almost Drowned In A Chocolate Fountain" confuses everyone the first time they see it. However, in the middle of the episode, Alex is bitten by a Spanish pocket elf, giving her an obsession with chocolate and resulting in her litteraly swimming on chocolate on a restaurant's floor.
