| Hamlin Rule is very loosely based on the comic book character Pied Piper, who had a constellation of mind control abilities, all based on music, that frequently confounded The Flash. He is in turn loosely based on The Pied Piper of Hamelin a Grimm legend that tells the story of what befell the town of Hamelin in 1284 when they hired a piper to remove their rats, and then refused to pay him when he did so. One can see the origin of Hamlin Rule's first name. |
