|
Eric and Jaye finally go out on a real date. They go to the zoo, where a canary on a sign gives Jaye instructions which cause havoc. To remedy the situation, she has to help a young woman from the zoo get two macaws to mate. The mating birds are seen as parallels for everyone involved. Jaye is convinced she has to break up with Eric if she really cares for him, Aaron and Mahandra get romantically involved, and Penelope, the zoo girl, realizes she has been so worried about the birds’ relationship, she has overlooked her own need for a companion.

| Jaye: (to Eric) I love that you brought me to the zoo for our first date. All of the animals are safely penned, and none of them talk.
| Rufus: Do you know what happens when a fairy’s wings lose their dust? The fairy dies, that’s what.
Jaye: Restrooms are for customers only.
| Mahandra: You’re not wearing any pants!
Aaron: I was about to get some.
Mahandra: Well, you’re certainly undressed for it.
| Jaye: Boys, out! You’re putting your pheromones all over everything!
Aaron: I’m not going anywhere. Mom and Dad put me in charge.
| Penelope: (to Aaron) I told you before, your powerful sexual chemistry is too distracting.
Aaron: (to Eric) I get that a lot, actually.
| Eric: (after Jaye suddenly kisses him) I don’t mean to look a gift mouth in the mouth , but what was that for?
| Jaye: (to Mahandra, referring to Eric) I'm trying to save him... by avoiding him so I could be with him. But I can't go near him, or I'll destroy him. So if I could just manage to stay away from him then maybe we could be together. Please don't repeat that back to me.
