Xena vows to change her evil ways and returns to her home town seeking forgiveness from her village for everything she has done, but the villagers are reluctant. When she hears the news that a warlord named Draco is going to attack her village she decides to stop him. Xena also meets a young girl, Gabrielle, who follows her along her journey.

Meanwhile, Xena enters a dream-like world in order to save Gabrielle and is forced to battle the ghosts of her past.
