In Gotham City, the Young Justice team fights Clayface, who easily defeats them. Aqualad is the last to fall, and Batman arrives just in time to shock the villain. Back at Mount Justice, Batman talks to Aqualad alone, dismissing a disappointed Robin. When Aqualad apologizes, Batman informs him that the team performed adequately, but Aqualad lacked focus as their leader.
