Food Network raises the real-life stakes in its newest series Chef Hunter. In this docu-reality series, culinary recruiter Carrie McCully provides a few promising out-of-work chefs the opportunity to audition for a coveted Executive Chef position in some of the top restaurants around the country. In each episode the select chefs are put to the ultimate test as the restaurant's general manager and owner challenge the chefs' culinary skill, business acumen and tenacity required to be an Executive Chef. The chosen chefs then experience the most pressure-filled night of their lives, as they get the chance to run the restaurant for the night. Villa Antonio, a family-owned Italian restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, is searching for its first ever Executive Chef. The lack of an Executive Chef has been hurting the restaurant's menu and its chance for survival in today's rough economy. The chosen candidates are each handed the keys to the restaurant to run an entire dinner service, to prove to owner Antonio Garcia they have the skills to bring success and life back into his restaurant.
