The two-hour pilot movie, on the surface, smacks of more of the same. But the format does have a different twist. Crimes committed in Chicago are thoroughly examined from three points of view: legal,
medical and police. It's the brainchild of Eric Bercovici ("Shogun"), who cast six continuing characters to portray two lawyers (Vincent Baggetta, Craig T. Nelson), two doctors (Kristoffer Tabori, Kene Holliday) and two cops (Jack Kehoe, Dennis Franz). A senseless shooting turns on all this law enforcement action.
The wrong man—a slightly retarded street chestnut vendor—is arrested after a 10 year old is critically wounded in a sniper shooting incident at a neighborhood park in the Windy City.
