I've seen and heard a lot of bad things over the years but despite those who have done wrong and got away with it. Don Imus has been fired for calling people nappy headed ho's.

Good. The bastard deserved it, not just for his recent comment, but for all the racist / sexist / inflammatory comments he's made over the years.

I don't understand why people like Imus say the things they do. Everything you say or do is meant to accomplish something. What is accomplished by calling women you never met or know personally "nappy headed ho's?" He's suppose to a grown man...act like it. Apologize all you want, it doesn't change the fact that this kind of thinking exists in his tiny mind.

Good riddance. You now are one brain cell ahead of Howard Stern in your field of childlike behavior.

I agree. We have free speech in this country. With free speech comes responsibility. If you say something that is meant to specifically hurt someone or a group of someones you should be prepared to suffer the consequences of your words.

Like when Al Sharpton called for the public lynching of several white men accused of raping a young black girl, and then refused to apologize when it came to light that the girl made it all up? That was my favorite one. Or Ms. Clinton and her "Ghandi" comments. That one was shocking as well.

I'm glad he's gone, too.

i think this is dumb.It a pointless agruement. The guy called them nappy hos...which isnt the worst thing someone can call someone els. The rev's are just trying to line there pockets more and more. This should of been only in the news for 2 days and should of been dropped.

The people wasnt effected at all by a off hand comment. There was no emonal damge or anything..This was a big wast of time.

It isn't his place to call anybody, anything. He gets paid to host a radio show, in which his salary is paid by sponsorships. It was his sponsors pulling their advertisement that finally got him axed.

As for his comment not being the worst thing said...no, but who is he to call anybody names on the national airwaves? And the comments did hurt the reputation of all those involved. Just imagine next season when they play a game on the road and the crowd starts chanting "Nappy headed hos'' to intimidate the team. If nothing was done to right this, then it certainly would happen. Their coach eloquently (look it up) stated that they were hurt and that the luster of a great season was now lost.

Words are a powerful weapon. They hurt more then fists. Bruises will eventually heal. We carry the weight of careless words for years, if not the rest of our lives.

I think people are blowing this way out of proportion. I mean come on, he called them hos, wow. Come on, people need to learn to get over stuff. If you don't like the guy, just don't listen to what he has to say. Its that simple. Is it really that hard to just ignore him?

And what is the point of making him talk to Al Sharpton? When did he become head black guy of the universe? Imus shouldn't have to apologize to somebody that he didn't say anything to. That guy needs to just mind his own business. If Imus owes anybody an apology, it is the people he insulted, and nobody else.

You have a few facts mixed up. No one asked Imus to apologize to Sharpton. He was to meet with him to explain why he did what he did and to figure out an atonement for his actions. Also, Rev Al has been working for close to 40 years along with Jesse Jackson and others for civil rights, he didn't just recently appoint himself in charge.

And my last word on this is, Be it any color, those can't see what's wrong in what he did are a part of the problem. The world is going to heck and no one seems to care.
