The original was way better.
I do not care if the new version was more like the book..
Wonka seemed to child molester type of person.. damn creepy
and the umpa loompas (better yet umpa loompa) weren't (wasn't) good

I hated the movie.. It made me hate Tim Burton Burton for creating this monstrosity of a movie

NOTHING CAN BEET THE ORIGINAL

Agreed! I got the feeling Depp was playing Michael Jackson playing Willy Wonka. And the Oompa Loompa...when there are so many little people actors out there to only cast one seems unfair to me. Kenny Baker, Warwick Davis, Tony Cox, Debbie Carrington...

this one sucked. the first was way better. just because they jazzed it up with cgi don't make it better.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Gene Wilder version, though I liked the book.

I went to the new one expecting to hate it. But actually, I rather enjoyed it. I was never bored - and in most movies, my attention does wander once or twice. I also like the music better in the new one.

Yes, Depp was creepy - but wasn't Gene Wilder pretty creepy too?

the second one was dissapointing really. sure the ffects were cool, but willy wonka was better than charlie version. what was up with all the flashbacks to wonka's past life?? and when they crashed into the house i was ENORMOUSLY disapointed!! i for sure thought that theyd beable to get in the Great Glass Elivator!! but NOOO they had to destroy it by having wonka give charlie the cold shoulder like that :@

the best part of the new version was that they put in the indian prince and his caslte of chocolate.
