I'm curious, I received this email from somebody yesterday and I was wondering if this situation, actually I guess I mean censorship, was happening in other towns.
Email:
Saw it over the weekend and yes, it's great.
We would not have known it was on had Linda not told us.
The theater is NOT advertizing it! Michael Moore had said on all the talk shows that it was opening over the weekend. So we checked the paper and finding nothing about it, just assumed that it was not going to be shown in Huntsville. (Alabama) Then we received the message from Linda and off we rushed to get to the 4 o'clock showing.
Just out of curiosity, we checked today's paper and sure enough: not a word was mentioned about the movie. So I called and was given a 5 minute explanation as to why they did not publicize it. He basically said it was because they were experimenting with a new way of advertizing. And I said "Like not advertizing?" He more or less said yes. And I said only with Michael Moore's movie. He said people could go to Monaco's web site and get the information. Say what? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and I told him so. I also told him that it was no doubt his corporate headquarters that instructed that the movie receive ZERO advertizing.
Everybody. Please call Monaco theater and complain about the movie getting zero advertisement. The number is 256-327-8340. Please call and demand that he advertize the movie along with the time. Even odder is the fact they listed the other movies being shown: Zombieland, The Invention of Lying, Pandorum, Surrogates.
Somebody with a connection with Michael Moore ought to tell him. Also I wonder if Birmingham (Alabama) is doing the same sneaky thing and other cities throughout this hopelessly Red state.
Thanks for info anybody can give me. Guytwo.

They did this with his other films, I believe. Not too surprising. |
