|Ryan, I have a question I'm kind of curious about. You have stated that you were a big PSOne fan, so when the PS2 came out, what made you not want to get it, and instead get the Xbox over a year later? Just curious...|
That's ok to be curious, but understand this; I don't hate Sony. I just don't like the decisions they've made in the past few years.
When the PS2 came out, I was in love with my PSone. It was still going strong, unlike the Xbox after the 360's launch, and I was still playing a lot of games. I didn't feel that I needed to spend $300 on a system that could play the games I was still playing. Lets face it, the PS2 launch sucked. I looked at the games at launch and the games that came out in the coming months and wasn't looking forward to anything. I also heard about this little game called Halo, not coming to the PS2. I went over to my buddies house and played MGS2 a lot and FIFA 2001, oh and ATV Off-road Fury. They were fun, but not $300 fun. You have to understand, this was 5 years ago. I had just started working. Anyway, another friend got an Xbox as a family gift and we rented Halo, played it for about 17 hours straight and I went out and bought a Xbox with all my money, my coming up birthday and my later-that-year Christmas money.
What this basically said, the underlining message, is that the PS2 was a crapty console. That's why I prefer the Xbox over the PS2. I can't prefer the 360 over the PS3 because the latter isn't out.
LOL. That just proves my point to an even farther extent. Halo
is the only game that attracts anyone over to the Xbox. Yes, I know you like other games now, but if it wasn't for Halo
, and Xbox getting later ports of the GTAs
Xbox would be down there with GameCube. Yes, I understand PS2 had a crapty launch, and maybe to you for some reason, you didn't like the games that came out in 2001 for it. But Xbox has a real dry hump when it comes to exclusives. I'm sorry but system just seemed to have all style but no substance. That kind of explains it a little more though, but to me Xbox just doesn't have a huge exclusive library. And it seems that the same thing will happen when Halo 3
comes out. It will save the 360 and boost up the sales. That's why Halo 2
is the top selling game before on Xbox. I was actually suprised to see that Gran Turismo 3
was the top selling game for PS2. I thought for sure it'd be GTA
