Plus a free game and who knows what else.

Did it say it came with a hard-drive?

The women in Woolworth did seem to think that it came with everything that would be needed but maybe I will check in with a specialist computer shop first before buying.

Woolworth is one of those sort of shops that sells everything a bit like Walmart over there so she couldn't be sure of anything she was telling me!

It sounds like it has all the main parts you would want. The cheaper one is the version that lacks all that, then you would have to buy them all separately and it could cost way more in the long-run.

Yeah is easier to pay more now and get everything I need in one swoop!

Call me bias but I don't care.. you want a XBOX 360. All around the best console out right now.

Best Online service, best selection of games, and the console is a reasonable price.

You couldn't even be bothered to explain the pros, cons, and outlook of all three consoles huh?

I was playing on a friends PS3 a few days ago. It was pretty good. But I'm sticking well and truely with the 360.

My View:
360 > Wii > PS3

I enjoy playing on my XBOX 360, last Christmas I had it down to the PS3 and the 360 (I hate Nintendo systems) and after evaluating the games I decided to go with the 360 and later upgraded to the Elite. The PS3 needs to find it's old ways where the PS2 was god. I would enjoy seeing them make some games that can compete with the 360 and even out sales. As long as the Wii isn't on top, then I'm fine. I plan on buying a PS3 soon though. I really enjoy my 360 as of now due to the wide variety of games.

i love my 360 as well. too bad you don't like Nintendo systems as they're usually the most gamer friendly. loved my original nes, super nes, 64, gamecube, and my wii. you're missing out on some great zelda games as well as mario 64, still one of my favorite games. and don't get me started about mario kart.

i'll get a ps3 after the price drop and they put out more than 2 decent games. right now it's a waste of money.

There's apparantly a price drop of $100 or so coming during E3. And this fall, there's LAIR, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Ratchet, Haze, Warhawk, and Little Big Planet hitting store shelves. The gaming drought looks like it's about to officially be over.

I'm hoping for new news on 8 days in the next few days *crosses fingers*

*edit*
And 300 comes out the 31st. Hooray for HD movies! Sadly, Hot Fuzz releases the same day, but on HD-DVD

it's too early for a price drop. especially if a whole slew of original titles are on the horizon.

Sony's officially denying it, but there's heavy rumoring that it's true, with "leaked" ads from various retailers giving evidence that it's not just one store's sale or something. I agree, it's early; not even 8 months old yet. But they're not selling anywhere near as fast as the company'd like, I guess. A drop down to $500, plus first-party power-showing games may help.

That's still a heck of a value too. Games, music player, photo editing (you can even hook a printer up to it now), watching video from the HDD, 60 gigs expandeable to whatever you want, card reader that takes everthing (but x D, and I'd have to have an Olympus, wouldn't I?), built-in Wi-Fi that you can use to stream content from your pc, stream content to a PSP anywhere in the world, or just use for net access, free online gaming, and a Blu-Ray player to boot. It's definitely worth it, but that doesn't change the fact that it's expensive. And if you're buying it JUST to play games, then it's understandeable that one would view it as far too expensive for a console.
