Apparantly, the PS3 can upload video directly to YouTube. They claim it a feature geared toward uploading any file on your system, and for in-game uploading. Maybe recording and uploading matches? Using youtube in game? Who knows.

5 new tidbits about Little Big Planet.
Every new bit of info excites the heck out of me. Now we know how enemies and music can be integrated into the game.

And Hysteria's coming to the Rock Band store tomorrow! (already out for you 360 owners)

Eh. I don't see it as a bad thing. By getting rid of the crappy titles it will allow more space for bigger XBLA games (150 > 350). I also think they plan on giving a 3 month notice before taking it off the marketplace, so there's plenty of time to download it and cherish it's crappy-ness.

It doesn't say which games are being taken off... I think Microsoft should do everyone a big favor and delete Yaris... It was free, and I still paid too much.

Well, we can try and determine if it'll be removed by 2 of the 3 criteria needed to be taken off the Marketplace. 1.) Been on the service for at least 6 months and 2.) have less than a 65 Metacritic rating. We can't tell what it's conversion rate is though.

Yaris came out October 10, 2007. So yeah, that's over 6 months. It's Metacritic score is a laughable 17. Yaris is definitely in trouble. The only thing that might keep it on the Marketplace is if the conversion rate is crazy good, which it might be as it is free, or that MSoft has some kind of agreement with Yaris that would keep the title up for download.

Other games that are probably in trouble:

Cyberball 2072
Screwjumper!
New Rally-X
TotemBall
Street Trace: NYC

Points don't come cheap and I am not made of money but hey if anyone wants to buy me some games feel free. If they're giving discounts or putting these games in some kind of bargain bin blowout for the 3 months before they delist then that might make it just a little bit better. There are a lot of games I wanted to get that are likely going to get the boot. It's not so much that this is a ridiculously company crippling bad thing to me. It's just quite laughable and annoying. I could technically bypass all of this by downloading a crapload of demos because that will allow me to get the full version later, but that kind of screws with conversion rates until I'm able to buy them.

Allowing for more space.. it's digital, this isn't a GameStop, no one should be worrying about shelf life just because newer, bigger, better games come out.. And if you can still download the game if you have already owned it...then it's still on a server of some kind taking up space...so why do you get rid of it in the first place if it's still actually there? It's still on service. And if you did own it, you can recommend it to a friend so that they can still download it...so it's like, still there... If they wanted to make it easier to find games like they're claiming, then maybe they should consider reorganizing their clogged interface that they made and putting the "crappy" games in a value category or some crap with discounts. Then it won't be bloated with junk.

Metacritic score of 65% or lower is a strange way to judge to me, because if you ignore the possible conversion rate for a moment, if Brain Challenge had been older than 6 months, it would be in trouble as it has a 54% on Metacritic yet it occupies like the third spot on the Top Arcade Game list on Xbox's site. And the conversion rate thing is another problem, because if it IS free or has no demo then it's rate will likely be more than enough to keep the game from being delisted. And people who just auto-download tons of demos and for whatever reason don't bother buying the full games even if they really liked what they played more or less drive the conversion rates down. That basically screws the point of even using that.

And Yaris has 100% conversion rate because it is free. Hoorah

Someone put together a list of these games with the year and % score (doesn't take conversion rates into account yet either) that are more than likely going and there are a lot of these I've wanted for awhile but couldn't get between points cost and costs of the regular system games alone + Live not keeping me connected + other things in life. I think you can make a guess as to what will and won't be going (I'm pretty sure Marathon: Durandal has enough online jazz going on to keep it from getting the boot), it's not like I'm going to be butthurt if Yie Ar Kung Fu is delisted but there's still a lot there that I want/like:

236 Robotron: 2084 2006 65
237 Bankshot Billiards 2 2005 65
238 Feeding Frenzy 2006 65

I like Yie Ar Kung Fu. I haven't played it on the 360, but it's really a fun game.

Haha sorry dude but I have always sucked at it and most karate/kung fu games of the time thus turning me off, but probably would still get it anyway. It's better and more engaging than Karate Champ at least *shakes fist* If that were on the list I wouldn't bother reliving it. To my memory Yie Ar at least controlled better than Karateka.

My 360 is also supposed to be coming back today from Microsoft after RROD so we'll see what happens

Well I'm finally using my ps3 as a gaming device and I've started with Resistance Fall of Man. I had my doubts about the high scores the game got but going into stage 3. I certainly see the potential but in the beginning it appeared to be a competent and enjoyable but not remarkable shooter. I found myself comparing it to Gears of War which from the minute you took control set the atmosphere and dread and delight. RFoM didn't do that but as the action kicks up i'm certainly seeing the potential and very impressed how cool the ps3 was after over 2 hours of gaming compared to my 360.

On July 2nd, PS3 finally gets firmware 2.40. IGN has a pretty good rundown of its features HERE. In game XMB, search engine, trophies, and more; looks promising. Can't wait for E3. If we manage to see:

God of War 3
Team Ico's games
Heavy Rain
L.A. Noir
Uncharted 2

All at the same game convention....my, how epic a show that'd be.

At this point, I really wonder if PS3 can make a come back. I know the Wii used all of it's big titles early in the race (Zelda, Mario, Super Smash, Metrioid Prime, Mario Kart)...now what? Sequels? Donkey Kong and Star Fox? Hopefully. Idk anymore. It's gonna be interesting to see how things play out...

I sadly haven't been paying that close attention to Nintendo's offerings this gen. Are all of you wii owners satisfied with the current/future releases.
