do you guys think it'd be better to have genre-specific releases from now on? I see so many complain about "this shouldn't be there" or "this isn't the music I like." I mean, they're releasing an 80s version soon, and I don't plan on buying that one, because I don't care to play nothing but hair-bands. But then again, the first two games introduced me to some rock and metal songs (and seriously, who knew Boston was a band? ) that I'd never heard before.

But even if they make an "all metal" game, they'll only get Avenge Sevenfold, and Trivium.

Right off the top of my head I can think of 10 metal bands that could appear on Guitar Hero. Avenged Sevenfold isn't even metal.. and if it is.. it's pretty wimpy metal.

Such as?

Anyways, the point was that games like this tend to go for popularity rather than quality.

Slayer, Queensrÿche, Judas Priest, Pantera, Megadeth, Sepultura, Clutch, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Anthrax, Danzig, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Iron Maiden, and TOOL.

I could go on but meh. These are all fairly well-known and popular bands. Some of them have already been on GH games. They could easily make a metal GH.

They've had Pantera, Megadeth, and Sabbath in the series already, so I guess they could score another track by them. And Harmonix had Fear Factory in Frequency, so there're ties there already too. I'd still rather they just make the variety versions. A little bit of everything goes a long way.

I should have seen that coming.

Decent song, but they've got better.

They were my favorite band...in the late 70s. BTW, their lead singer committed suicide a few months ago...turned on a little barbecue in his bathroom with a suicide note left to his girlfriend pinned on the door.

Boston is one of the greatest bands ever. if you don't know who they are, then some might say you don't know very much about music.
