A few to start us out:

And I wonder... if anything could ever feel this real forever... if anything could ever be this good again... The only thing I'll ever ask of you: you've got to promise not to stop when I say when...

Hello, Darkness, my old friend... I've come to talk with you again...

Everybody goes, leaving those who fall behind. Everybody goes as far as they can, they don't just care. They stood on the stairs, laughing at your errors...

No one's paved the road to Paradise or guaranteed that it'd be nice...

I embrace my desire to... feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow, to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human.

If you know what those are from you get 10 internets per lyric.

"I'm gonna f***, f***, f***, f*** you."

These lyrics speak to me.

1. Foo Fighters - Everlong
2. S & G - Sounds of Silence (duh)

not sure of the other 2 off hand.

Although one of my favorites is also from Sounds of Silence.

And the sign flashed out its warning, in the words that it was forming, and the sign said "the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls."

I honestly love every lyric to this song. It's extremely poetic and the imagery is amazing. This is a punk song turned into a classic rock song. Awesome.

Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig pen
Saying 'keep on diggin'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find?
Down in the pig mine
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.

Bus stop rot bag, ha ha, charade you are
You f***ed up old hag, ha ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hat pin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.

Hey you Whitehouse, ha ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse, ha ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You've got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry.

The last verse of You Never Even Called Me by My Name:

II was drunk the day my Ma got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got run over by a damned old train

Chorus:
And I'll hang around as long as you will let me
I never minded standin' in the rain
You don't have to call me darlin', darlin'
You never even called me, I wonder why you don't call me
You never even called me by name

So Yesterday

But I’m gonna keep your jeans.
And your old black hat – cause I wanna.
They look good on me.
You’re never gonna get them back
At least not today, not today, not today”

Is mine favorite lyrics ......

Damien Rice --
"What I want from this
Is learn to let go
No not of you
Of all that's been told
Killers re-invent and believe
And this leans on me, like a rootless... tree"

Seven a.m., waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein' everything, the time is goin'
Tickin' on and on, everybody's rushin'
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends
