He's not my favourite, but it really hit me when I found out John Ritter had passed away. I have never felt that way about a celebrity and I still don't know why this one had any impact.

I'll second that. I think for me it was partly because he seemed so natural. As silly as it sounds on Three's Company, I really believed that John Ritter and Jack Tripper were the same guy, his acting seemed effortless. I guess that and the fact that he was always around (on TV that is) made him seem so likeable, like a good friend, so when he died there was a bigger sense of loss.

Same here, I guess for me it was because I had grown up watching him. Even though he wasn't one of my favourites, I still had a sentimental attachment to him.

I have too many favourites that are dead. lol

Alec Guinness, Laurence Olivier, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Cary Grant, Richard Burton, Peter Sellers, Audrey Hepburn, Rex Harrison, Richard Harris, Yul Brynner, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Katharine Hepburn, Oliver Reed ... and an ungodly amount of others. I'd be here all day. ^o)

Miana, I agree with both of your posts!

Sentimental attachment...that's what I was trying to say!

From your list, I'm especially fond of Richard Harris, Richard Burton, Yul Brynner and, like I said before, Katharine Hepburn. They all died too early.

Yeah, he was a great actor. He probably would have been Oscar nominated by now if he was still alive.
