Evidently he died shortly after returning home after having brunch with his family. All told, not a bad way to go.

Agreed!

God, I must be getting old, everyone I grew up with is dying.

He wrote the very popular 1980 book "A People's History of the United States."

"If you look at history from the perspective of the slaughtered and mutilated it's a different story."- Howard Zinn

That's one of the books I used in my AP US History class. I'm not sure how I remembered that.

Me too! I liked it.

I still remember him in the TV show Davy Crocket. All the cool kids had coon-skin hats. I didn't have one.

Robert Culp died today. He was always great to watch, but I've never seen I Spy. Maybe I'll put it on my Netflix list.

I never caught either of the two shows that were his main claim to fame, I Spy and Greatest American Hero. I was just watching him on Ray Bradbury Theater a few weeks ago. I've also seen him in Demon With A Glass Hand. Check him out here.

John Forsythe died today. He was 92. His face is probably best known from Dynasty, but his voice will always be Charlie, in Charlie's Angels. I'm not sure he was ever credited in that show at the time - does anybody know for sure?

Dixie Carter died yesterday. I remember seeing her in what was essentially a One-Woman show just off Broadway. There were 2 or 3 other people on stage for a couple of minutes a few times, but otherwise it was all her. It was called Master Class, and her husband, Hal Holbrook was in the audience. She did a wonderful job. She was only 70.
