The opening ceremonies were a smidge on the dull side I thought, but considering the scale, amount of manpower and seemingly flawless production they were still quite impressive.

As for the games, I usually only check out Gymnastics and occasionally watch Diving as well.

I watched the archery for the first time and it was surprisingly interesting.

The only comment I have about the Olympics is to say that many of the athletes are very hot...yeah, I'm not too much into sports *cough*David Boudia*cough*

Although I do catch parts of some of the events. I like the idea of the US beating all the countries in these games.

Even worse is that the "Gold" medal is only a little over 1% gold. It's actually a silver medal plated with gold. The last time the gold medal was actually solid gold was in 1912.
