Wow, the US got a pretty good draw for the World Cup. England, Slovenia, Algeria. They won't beat England but Slovenia and Algeria shouldn't be that hard.

Can't be as bad as 2006 though...

But honestly, I don't care. No one I know cares how far the US will go, mainly because no one I know is interested in soccer.

Yeah, maybe in South America and Europe...

But to people I know, it's the Super Bowl. Followed by the World Series.

Well, you know that song, "We Are the World"? As the song goes... "We ARE the world."

Hahaha, seriously though, "World Series" was used ever since its creation in 1903. Since most other countries didn't have baseball leagues back then (and only a few others do today), and since the MLB is where players worldwide aspire to go, the name pretty much stuck. In some sense, the league really is international. Some of the best players come from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, some Asian countries, etc. To name a few, one of the greatest pitchers in history is from Panama, and last year's World Series MVP is from Japan.

I can't believe it's already starting tomorrow.

Any predictions? I'm expecting the US will finish second in Group C, and I'd imagine Germany will win Group D, meaning we'll end up facing them.... and I'd be surprised if they didn't beat us. Then again, Group D is probably the best one top-to-bottom, so maybe we'll luck out and end up facing someone else.

As for an overall winner, I think Spain's team is great, maybe better than when they won Euro 2008.

Then again, they had to go to a shootout over Italy to win that, so maybe I'm wrong.

I hope Paraguay does well and I hope England loses every match they play. I can't stand David Beckham and Posh Spice.

How does a draw with England sound?
