We are pacing ourselves, lets see how the takeover progresses next week and then (all being well) lets hope everyone at Liverpool can concentrate on matters on the pitch...no excuses!

Can not see Liverpool being able to bridge the gap between Manchester United and Chelsea though already.

I doubt if Liverpool will ever win the Premier League. The top 3 are just too good year after after year. Then there's also the mid level teams like Tottenham and Fulham, things don't look good for Liverpool now, or in the future.

Well we are rid of Hicks & Gillett and I am hoping this lifts the cloud that has been hanging over Anfield for too long now, however, a local derby away to Everton (and relegation six-pointer ) is not the ideal game to judge whether the feelgood factor has returned.

QPR seem to be loosing their grip on the top of the Championship after three draws in a row.

Chelsea and Arsenal both only need one more point from their three remaining European Champions League games to progress to the next stage of the competition.

It was a great come back by Tottenham when loosing 4-0 to Inter Milan to pull it back to 4-3.

It was interesting how Wayne Rooney insisted that he wanted to leave Manchester United but back tracked when more money was offered to him to stay.

I think Chelsea have a really good shot at winning both the Premiership and Champions League this season.

Thankfully we (Liverpool) did finally kick-start our season with a 2-1 win against Blackburn and we looked a completely different team to the one that showed up previously.

I still think Rooney will leave Utd in the next 2 years they have just made sure they can command a huge fee for him by getting him to sign a new deal, there is probably a gentlemans agreement that he can leave at some point, similar to the one done with Ronaldo.

Chelsea are doing well early on but maintaining a sustained assault on both major competitions as well as the minor ones will be difficult...

Chelsea will repeat this season. I don't think Arsenal has the quality or depth to keep up, and Man United has the weakest squad they've ever had in a long time. Man City are still pretenders to me, and simply punch above their weight from to time.

As for the Champions League, it's always so hard to call. I don't think anyone thought Bayern would go as far as they did last season. Chelsea and them are the only teams with maximum points this year, and a final between them would be great in my opinion.

In other news.. holy crap Gareth Bale is turning into a beast..

The beast was tamed by Bolton

Another slip up by chelsea comfortably beaten 2-0 by an improving Liverpool as i said above a sustained assault will be difficult for any team especially in the Premier League, there have been too many unexpected results already this season
