Because of all the players leaving Syracuse before last season began, they welcomed in 31 new bodies today. 11 were transfers in which nine came from Hofstra, since they dumped football.

Hope you guys get all the best players Hofstra.

I hope they get some linemen.

My alma mater, Appalachian State, used most of their available scholarships on linemen. They signed a couple of junior college brutes to beef up the defensive line and got a 6-7 tackle out of Florida and a couple of 6-4 guys out of Georgia to replenish the offensive line. They actually finished 119 in the Rivals.com recruiting rankings which was tops for a FCS school. All this despite being two coaches short in the recruiting wars. They still need to hire a new OL coach and a new defensive coordinator.

Linemen don't get the glory they deserve, but that is changing.

The Apps just hired a new secondary coach yesterday. He won't be the DC. I think they're going to promote the LB coach to that position. Not too thrilled with the hire. He comes from a staff at a rival conference school that just got fired.
