They're going to be starting pretty soon, so I thought I'd make a thread. Discuss here.

Only thing in the olympics that I am interested in is Icehockey
I'll be following at least all of Finland's games.

I can't wait!!!! I love the Olympics!!

I have an offical sweatshirt & an officlal flag, bought from the official store in the Training Center in Lake Placid. I'm even looking into having a pair of earrings made by a crafter who makes earrings out of metal rings. The pair I already have has 5 rings, so it's perfect for the Olympics. She even already has rings in red, green & gold, so I only have to worry about the blue & black, and I'll bet she has black rings already. But I've got to get a hold of her soon!!

Susie My girlfriend in 1964, had a sweatshirt that said "Olympic necking team"
We won the gold metal.

Ah the good ole days.

So now I have a better idea of your age, Guy - since I was born in 1964. I knew you were retired, but you could have retired any number of years ago, at any age.

Oh I thought you already knew how old I am. Hint: I was born on (USA date) VJ Day.

I was born in 1964 too.

I missed the last Winter and Summer Olympics due to 2 different hospital stays. Pissed me off 'cuse I just had HD TV added a few weeks earlier. Come opening day...boom, i'm swept away to a hospital bed.

So ME,. you and I are the youngest Baby Boomers! It's kind of odd, we're really too young for people to consider us Baby Boomers, but I don't even know what cam after them. How terrible to be in the hospital! And at that time!

So Guy, it's kind of surprising that you diidn't get named after a war hero. But I guess tour parents always knew what their first son's name would be. I heard that that sailor and nurse didn't even know each other.

I take the Olympics very seriously! For the last Winter Games I put all of the TV things I wanted to watch/tape on slips of paper, with the time & channel. I then had to coordinate the slips so that there weren't any conflicts and so that I had room on the tapes on my multiple VCR's.

I'm REALLY not that organized. But with the Olympics, if you miss it, you miss it FOREVER! So I work hard to catch all of the sports that I like, and that's likely more than half of them.

Well, the opening ceremonies actually turned out to be pretty good. Canada is a more interesting country than I thought.
