Sorry Canada, but there's no way you beat China with that opening ceremony. You also lost points with me over that lighting the cauldron thing.

I'll keep a lookout on ice hockey, anyway.

Canada's opening ceremony was nice until they looked like idiots lighting three of the four sections, then later adding the fourth.

China's kicked ass, especially when the guy looked like he was running around the rim of the stadium to light the flame.

Anyone catch the "We Are the World" remake right before the ceremony? It was horrible. I don't know how anyone could find it better than the original. I'll donate money if they promise to never play it again.

I agree. The singing was bad enough, but the rap part made me mute my TV.

Don't forget the autotune. And the punk kid they chose to lead off. Sad that this crap passes for music these days.

I've never enjoyed any version of "We Are The World".

I doubt anyone will ever top China's opening ceremony. I didn't have very high expectations for Canada (no offense, Canadians), but they actually surprised me. The torch failure was kind of awkward, though...

Yeah, nothing's ever coming close to that communist crap that China pulled. They had tons more money and manpower than Canada ever came close to having. You literally can't even compare the two. Well, you could, but it would be pointless to do so.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I loved the Opening Ceremony!

What they did with light & shadow was just amazing!

And the technical glitch did NOT ruin anything for me. I love the idea of the Ice & Fire cauldron...beautiful.

Arrgghh! I missed the Men's Curling today! I had to tape it since I was going to a funeral, and I screwed up the AM/PM for the start! Aaarrgghhh!! One of my VCR's, maybe 2 of them, would have told me that no tape will go for 15 1/2 hours! How could I messed that up!?!?!

I missed it also. USA network will have curling on tomorrow morning (Wed.) but I don't know if it's a rerun or new.

One of the parts that stood out to me was the effect they had on the floor with the whales swimming across. That was absolutely crazy.

Yeah! The whales were fantastic! I kept having to convince myself that they weren't real!

No reruns, Guy. They were new. I guess we can take some solace in that they lost the game that we missed. I haven't watched the MSNBC overnight coverage of the Women yet, or the USA coverage this afternoon, but I sure hope things are going better!

The Men's Free Skate is tonight!! I REALLY!!!! want Evan Lysacek to win! And almost as much, I DON'T want Yevgeny Plushenko to win.

I enjoyed most of the Opening Ceremony. There was no way they could compete with the China Opening but I thought they did a good job. The only thing negative I have to say is that there was too much talking by the Olympic officials.

Hey cjhtwo, just saw Lysacek win. YEAH! My favorite part so far was watching Shaun White not even try and get a 48. Amazing.

I am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY that Evan Lysacek won!!

Plushenko was such a sore loser! I never liked that guy, even back in '06.

All 3 medalists made serious accomplishments. Lysacek was the first US man to win since '88, and he was the first World Champion to win since '84. Plushenko is the first man to win 3 medals in Figure Skating since sometime in the 30's. And Takahashi is the first Japanese man to ever win a medal in Figure Skating. Congratulations to all of them! (Grudgingly to Plushenko)

No matter who won between Plushenko and Lysacek, either one would've deserved it. That said, I'm glad Lysacek edged him out. Also, I thought Johnny Weir's performance was grossly underscored.

I'm pretty excited for the USA-Canada hockey game on Sunday.
