Better Never To Have Been: The Harm of Coming Into Existence is a book from 2006 by David Benatar. David Benatar is a professor who teaches at the university of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa. He argues that it would be better if we all never existed and that life is much worse than what we think. He claims we are all severely harmed by our parents bringing us into existence.

The book is on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Better-Never-Have-Been-Existence/dp/0199296421

And here is David Benatar on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Benatar

I also found a radio interview he did in South Africa on youtube.
