I loathed the movie (see blog)

Snape vexes me. I want him to be a friend. But that is so cliche. So then I want him to be a foe. I'm leaning towards him being a friend because it has been said so many times in the book that if you can't trust Dumbledore, you can't trust anyone. I'm aware the world of HP is dark and everchanging, but I think that would remain constant.

I inclined to think Dumbledore made Snape kill him, via Legillimens, and keep his position as a spy. I don't really know. Maybe Dumbledore was wrong about him. I sort of think he's working for himself, and only himself. J.K. has said Snape's been loved, and I think that's an important clue. There's better ways of keeping your position then killing though, so I have no clue. Dumbledore wanted to go to Snape anyways, and perhaps he knew he was going to be killed either way.

Snivelly's been loved? 0.o By who? I want to see this . . .as we saw in book 5, his childhood wasn't so hot.

I'd like to think that he did tell Snape to kill him . . I don't know, it's pretty confusing. When I read it for the first time I thought I was kinda going crazy because it as so late and I'd been reading for a while...

I liked the film I guess. I mean, besides the fact that it wasn't how I personally pictured it (my version was amazing), it was alright. I didn't like how they changed some things, but like GoF, you can't have everything. I was really looking forward to the St. Mungo's scene.

MA: Oh, here’s one [from our forums] that I’ve really got to ask you. Has Snape ever been loved by anyone?

JKR: Yes, he has, which in some ways makes him more culpable even than Voldemort, who never has. Okay, one [question] more each!

That interview was taken the night that HBP came out, with Melissa Anelli from the Leaky Cauldron, and Emerson Spartz from Mugglenet.

Q4: Who is R.A.B.?

I think R.A.B. might just be Regulas, perhaps. J.K. said "that would be a fine guess". The wording is strange, so I think Regulas is correct, but I think there's more to it than that. Therefore, I think Kreacher went to the cave with Regulas. Another theory I liked, but doubt is Roldphus and Bellatrix. I also think R.A.B. could be Mr. Borgin.

P.S. It's been officially 24 hours since I've seen the film as of 7:05 PM CST. Thank you.

At first, I thought Regulas, but that seems a little more obvious that JKR ususally is . . .my main issue with predicting is I either underthinking it or overthink it.

I don't like Roldpohus and Bellatrix . . .Bella is just such a total villianess it seems a litte, ehh, unbelievable.

Borgin maybe, I can see him stealing it for the material gain.

I'm rereading the 6th book, started . . . 187 minutes ago and I'm on page 509. I love how the books go by so fast, and I'm rethinking my friend/foe-Snape theroy..

But the question is - is it suppose to be that big of a mystery? She said in the interview I mentioned a few posts up that careful readers would be able to discover one of the unknown horcruxes by the end of the night (July 16, 05). When I re-read the books, for 1-3, I wrote down all the possible horcruxes (including even the chains in Filch's office). I'm curious to see if I guesses one correctly.

It probably is the wand them It's in books 1-3 and it makes a ton of sense...

I think RAB is definetly someone we've heard of before . . . or else there wouldn't really be any point signing the intials, if no one could figure it out.

No, those are just the books I did it for. I didn't find anything in book four of interest (except perhaps the Goblet itself, or the door opener from Sirius...) Idk..I just didn't bother for the remaining books.

Ah well . . .

I'm starting to reread them, just finished the first, halfway through the second.

You know a book is reallygood when it was your favorite thing in the world at 7, but you still can see yourself getting into it (for the first time) at 15...

I didn't read until I was 9. Before I read them, I hated them, cause I owned the first 4 books, yet never read them. I tried to read the first. Bored me. Couldn't get past the first few pages. I thought there was a million characters in the beginning, and it absolutely confused me. But during school one day, we were required to get a book from the library, so at the last second, I grabbed PS/SS. Then I read it, and enjoyed it. The second was weird at first, but got into that as well, and then I read the 3rd (woah, what a shocker), and the 4th (wow, what a even big shocker). There was no more to read, so I read, and read them again. Then I heard about the fifth, so I searched the internet for info, and I found a site, and still use it to this day. Then I reread them again (this time with the fifth). Then I read all 5 again, which meant I read the first 4 five times, the 5th twice. The 6th one was coming, so I reread them again. The 6th time 1-4, 3rd fr the 5th, and first for the 6th. Time passed. It was 2006. Still hadn't re-read them. It was over a year since HBP came out. So in October I read 1, 2, and the first chapter of PoA. I decided to stop. To preserve the 7th reading until late spring. So I did. Here I am. Meh..after 7 comes out, I might stop reading them. Maybe I'll read the fifth 3 more times, and the 6th 5 more times, and the final 6 more times. I limited myself.

Q5: What were Lily and James occupations?

and

Q6: What is the significance of Lily, her eyes, and her role in book 7?

10/31/1998: My library teacher (second grade) read us the first chapter of the first book, I stampeed the other little second graders (something like that) to be able to check it out first

I was obessessed. So bad. I ordered the second book from England . . .and my best friend and I honestly thought we were going to Hogwarts. I was kinda disapointed the summer I was 10 (going into 6th grade) and nothing showed up...

I read them a good 20 times each in the first 4 years, my parents took them away because I didn't read anything else. I lost count, but it has to be somethign in the 30s by now. . . not for the 5th (probably thats something in the late-teens/early 20s because I really really loved it) and 6th (only like 5, haha)

I thought I was releated to Hermione for a number of years. As . . .you can probably tell, I'm an agressive reader and I was a lot worse when I was a kid. I read everywhere. Even in the shower. (It look practice... I've probably lost the ability by now, but it was useful. By books on the other hand, are almost all destroyed by water). I also used to have the really bushy brown hair and slightly overlarged front teeth. (My hair's has now gone into spiral curl/riglet type things and the teeth have succumbed to braces). . . . and I kinda grew out of the notion.

I'm going to read the 7th, then read them all the way through. I don't know if I'm going to continue reading . . . it's weird, these books have been a massive part of my life for ... oh, man . . .*thinks* 11-2 = 9 years in October . . .

And as for the questions, I really don't know, it's early, brain's not quite on

I have no clue about Lily's eyes, but I think she was a Unspeakable for the Department of Mysteries. They could've been Aurors, but that seems to obivous, and JK said they didn't need well paying jobs, so Aurors seem out of the question. Perhaps James was just something boring and unusual, while Lily was a Potion something? *scratches head* uh..

Q7: What's going on in the A) U.S. cover, B) UK Cover, and C) U.S. Deluxe edition?
