Well, over in the movie board, we've got the DVD Collection. So I ask, what books do you guys have in your library. (I realize this will probably be a HUGE list for some people, but I'm curious to see what common books pop up).

When I was about 8 or 9, I was made to read the dictionary for a whole double period. Most boring hour of my life. Didn't even get to 'B'.

Ok, this isn't my entire collection (as I own way too many series to list right now) but these are some of the books I dug out.

The top row ( numbered 1-9 ) is as follows:
  1. The Hobbit
  2. LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring
  3. LOTR: The Two Towers
  4. LOTR: The Return of the King
  5. HALO: The Fall of Reach
  6. HALO: The Flood
  7. HALO: First Strike
  8. DRAGONLANCE: The Doom Brigade
  9. DRAGONLANCE: Draconian Measures

The bottom row ( numbered 1-8 ) are as follows:
  1. DRAGONLANCE: The Legend of Huma
  2. DRAGONLANCE: Kaz the Minotaur
  3. DRAGONLANCE: Land of the Minotaurs
  4. DRAGONLANCE: The Dragons of Chaos
  5. DRAGONLANCE: The Dragons
  6. RAVENLOFT: Knight of the Black Rose
  7. Dracula (duh)
  8. Rainbow Six

The book to the left of the stack is 'The Handbook to Astronomy' and the book to the right of the stack is 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,' or simply the greatest book ever written.

Shortly after I realized I forgot the book I'm currently reading.. 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.'

I can't afford to buy books, so I keep them all at my local public library

I got my wife to stop buying books too, so between us, we probably save $1500 a year. She reads about 60 books a year and I read about 40. Plus, we also get our DVDs there, so that's several hundred dollars too.

we <3 library

EDIT: If we could afford it, I would love to dedicate a bedroom to a library. I didn't mean to sound negative on the subject. It's a money issue.

I found this site today -- you can catalog your book collection and they market themselves as "the world's largest book club". I haven't added all the books I have in my collection yet, but here's what I have so far. I'll add more when I have a chance.

Hey, that's pretty cool. It's kind of like my DVD catalog over at IMDB. I'll have to try this out

  • Dragonlance is an awesome series. I personally have the very first trilogy as well as the second. I have the first 'Tales' trilogy as well as the entire 'Preludes' collection. I also have the 'Chaos Wars' Trilogy as well as 'Dragons of Summer Flame'. Also the Raistlin Chronicles.

I like Dragonlance... at least I used too before they screwed over my favorite character.

Speaking of Dragonlance... did you know they did a crossover with Ravenloft? It's called 'Knight of the Black Rose'

Hmm, it appears once you get over 200, you have to pay to maintain the catalog. It's not too expensive though... and I like that you can view it from a phone. I have around 4 books of which I own duplicate copies because I was in a used book store and couldn't remember if I owned that title already or not. I'm only at 188 so far, so I should be good for a little while. Thanks again!
