So, I called in my order for an autographed Princep's whilst on my way to work, and the lady was really nice (it's, like, one person answering the phone there, so I had to call a couple times). Gave her all the info, and she was like, do you just want the autograph, or do you want it personalized?

...I can make Butcher write whatever I want...?

Thanfully, she said I could call back with what I wanted it to say; trying to come up with something witty and memorable while avoiding Virginia drivers in the rain could only end in fail.

So, any suggestion anyone? "May the furies be with you?"

2 things...

1 - I read too damn fast.

2 - Jim Butcher is a f***ing genius.

Backup was excellent.

"First issue" as in original printing, or First Issue as in the special edition re-release? If it's the latter, how'd you get Backup after me, but SF before!

I still haven't cracked Backup open yet I know, I know... But I'm off today, so I'm dedicating this Sunday to books and Killzone 2.

Read Backup on Tuesday and am suffering withdrawal sorely. It's kind of cool seeing Harry from another's perspective too. Butcher is indeed da man. Went to the comic stor yesterday and picked up issues #1 of Storm Front, Patricia Brigg's "Mercy" series, and Neil Gaiman's "Sandman." Wow...I"m turning into a little comic conniseur.

After a bunch of confusion, Princep's Fury indeed released today (well, yesterday), November 25th! I called DogEarBooks, and they said Jim's coming in later this week (I'm assuming that means Friday), and that the autographed copies should be mailed Monday. Sucks having to wait that long, but I am in the middle of a book anyways, so it's all good. Still waiting for the Storm Front SE to be sent too.

My copy of Princep's arrived last night! In the middle of reading it, and got an email saying Storm Front should be shipping soon as well. woot! I failed to request anything witty, so the autograph just says "to kevin," but that's still awesomeness there. Maybe I should get it signed "to siesser" next time...

Finished Princeps and LOVED it. The only thing that bothered me at all was how quickly the stuff with Gaius happened, but that's a small gripe, and I still got all tingly during that part anyways. I actually looked forward to Isana's parts, which was a rarity indeed. And the very last page...oooh, big stuff's 'bout to be happenin'. Can't wait for next winter.

My copy of Storm Front arrived Tuesday - copy number 323 of 500. I shall cherish it well, and start reading it now. I hope they continue these releases, because the first seven Dresden books I have in 3 omnibus volumes, six now that I've bought SF, and I'd like to own them all individually, even if it's $60 a pop. The first two Codex Alera I own in paperback, and would like gussied-up versions of those as well.

The special uber deluxe edition of Fool Moon is available for pre-order. Right now, those who bought Storm Front get first dibs (awesome), but the price is still steep.

Then again, it's worth it to have a collector's copy of my second favorite series. Book 11 comes out in April though... could you imagine 11 copies of $70 books?

That's where being a fan interupts with being terminally poor.

I just finished The Warrior. It's a short Dresden Files story in Mean Streets. Damn good story. I think that was his best short yet.

I still haven't read a short outside of Backup BUying Mean Streets though! What do you think of the goings-on of Turn Coat?

And I'm happy Butters was in the beginning of the book. I had Butcher sign it with "Polka will never die!!", and his presence made it less absurd.

Finished it. The ending was kinda sad and crummy. The book itself was very good. I just don't like the changes.
