Yeah, the changes were kind of harsh, but I'm ok with it. I mean, it seems like he's kind of forcing new events to take place for future novels. But they at least aren't absurd in their nature or scope. I was verily irked that there was no progress on the Michael front. I mean, come on! Mke. Two swords. The whole coins shebagn. I thought for a second that when Harry was looking for a place to house Morgan, he'd hit up the church and bring Michael in that way, but noooo. I'm more saddened by what happened with "L" than with "T", to be honest.

Read "The Warrior" for your Michael jones.

L?

I have very big theory about where Butcher is going with this. It all comes down to the conversation with the Gatekeeper on the island and the coveration with McCoy in his study.

Harry is destined to become the Merlin.

Think about it... The last wizard entrusted with a sword was THE Merlin.

And I think they all know this, which is why they all hate him so much (Mai, the Merlin, etc...)

And there is something very fishy about the Gatekeeper. There's a LOT more to him the meets the eye.

Sorry I bailed Nishi!

I agree with Harry rising up the ranks that way, assuming it's an elected, and not tenured position. He's got about half of the white court at least tolerating or outright respecting him, and all of the new greys are on his side. So - Popular. He's unquestionably powerful and effective, and is coming into all of these new powers and abilities. Already conveys the capacity for an ambassadorial role, is best buds with a Knight, etc., etc. I mean, I hope it doesn't happen, because the he wouldn't be in the fireld anymore, b ut that may be the end result.

And I need to re-read the book - I forgot who "L" was, lol!

First Lord's Fury - November 24th, and Briggs' next Omega novel comes out next month

Now I just realized this today... Harry's mother's full name is Margaret Gwendolyn LaFey. Coincidence?

But realistically, when you think about it the Merlin was very active 'in the field'. Merlin to Harry would never be an office job.

Also, I think Butcher himself stated that a lot of ground work for the future novels was laid in this book. I don't feel like Harry is going to become Merlin anytime soon. Maybe in the Trilogy that's supposed to take place after novel 20.

Not to mention I strongly feel that a new character will be introduced soon that will take Michael's sword. (If he hasn't already been). Maybe in the next book or two.

Where are you going with his mother's maiden name? I thought it was already assumed that she was a Fey descent, given is godmother's very personal relation to him (haven't seen her for a while). And under the circumstances of the war, I agree, the Merlin is out there a lot laying down some smackdown on his own. But to be in charge of that rigid, unwavering black-and-white group of people that nearly killed him and is apprentice...unless he cound incite some kind of radical revamping, I just don't see him taking that throne, but things are definitely point in that direction, I agree.

Even if we get someone to take Mike's sword, we still have [i[Fidelaccius or however you spell it s well. I was so hoping that someone that one would go to Thomas, but with the new turn, that doesn't seem to be Butcher's plan. We're definitely getting into heavier and heavier hitters now, and although Harry is developing, we're not seeing those around him increasing their abilities in kind - Murphy, Thomas, even Mouse are the same as they were when they were first introduced, for the most part. That they haven't gotten killed yet is a wonder - Thomas at least has a well to tap into, Mouse his mystical nature, but Murphy has been some kind of lucky.

I think we need Elaine and Susan back. And more Kincaid - did he retire from taking care of the Archive? Anyways, adding another sword burden before removing the former just made things all kinds of crazy.

Strange Brew's out now, by the way. Short story by not only Butcher, but Patricia Briggs as well (the Mercy Thompson and Omega novels are becoming a new fave). Buy it!

Morgana LaFey? Not to mention Gwendolyn is a bit more common then it's sound alike Guenevere.

Mark my words... Shiro's sword is meant for Murphy. Eventually she will end up with it again.

I never thought Thomas was meant to have a sword. Murphy is developing, she's changed a lot. Things aren't as black and white for her anymore. She's even gone so far as to sacrifice an aspect of her career to help Harry and Molly, not to mention killing remfields. That's something she would have never done at the beginning. And Mouse is showing more of himself every day.

As for Kincaid, he has never stopped being the Archive's bodyguard. He loves her and will never leave her. He says it's just a job, but not even he believes it anymore.

And I'll check it out when I get the chance.

Psst... Dresden has a child. Rumor has it as a girl.

I am dying for the next book.
