Countdown Favorite Show section is unreadable, ( black on red/dark red seriously ??)
not a big fan of red, blue is better... best is let us select color in settings.

those unreadable colors still need to be fixed, that i was already aware of, it's the overall opinion i like to hear about the colors.

Please don't use that colour scheme, I can barely look at it. I have chronic migraines and some colours that bother it will pretty much stop me from coming to a site.

what part of the website do you have a problem with the color scheme exactly, could you give me a screenshot and mark the area?

It's the main red that you're using on the boxes. It's too strong. I'd stick with a similar muted dark colour like you have on the site now, it doesn't have to be plummy but I'm sure you know what I mean - just not so bright.

Aside from my earlier comments against the colour scheme, I should add that I like the general idea of the layout. I have always struggled with knowing what all the features are on the current layout - it's all so busy that many features I have discovered by accident. The new layout looks much cleaner and I think it should be easier to take in the details as we move through the site. So yeah, if you can choose a colour scheme that is more user friendly, I think it is a good beginning.

Can't say I dig the new layout.

Instead of paying a designer, you could've looked at sites like ThemeForest to find a nice theme (that can be customized slightly).

They've got some pretty decent designs, and are not expensive at all.

If you still decide to stick with the design, I suggest to center the website like the current one.

well, a template that is for sale will never be used, we need the same structure, nothing in the coding has changed, just a wider layout and a makeover, which will most likely change again now.

but in either scenario, the current layout will still be operational and can be used the same.

The reds are a little intense for my comfort. The site is usable, but I would expect it to give me eyestrain if I browsed extensively. The dark fonts on dark red will discourage people from browsing, I fear. They're very hard to see.

we will be bringing forward a new design, 50 / 50 split on liking it and some even saying they would not use it has made it obvious this one can not me used, but feel free to keep the advice and dislikes going so we will have more input data to work with when resolving the issues people have.

Selfishly speaking, I really wish we'd stop changing the background colors of blogs. It makes my old blogs look terrible. I think leaving it white would be perfect.

FYI, TVGuide recently changed their header to a darker red (with gray border on the home page)... I'm a little concerned about the similarity at this point...

Don't like the color scheme, don't like the layout. I could start nitpicking at various aspects but the main thing is, the old layout does a much better job at showing me an incredible amount of information in a very small space while still being nicely readable. The new one just wastes space everywhere but since it uses basically the same red/white scheme for the whole site, it's not as readable.

As long as the old layout is still there as an option, i don't have a problem with this though.

You're right, it does look terrible. TV.com went to a bright white and that was terrible.
This background is much softer and it's perfect.
