Not to just add new functions, it would be nice to know what you don't like on tvrage so features can be improved or certain things can be removed in order to better shape it to likeness

Well besides the little annoyances (which narrow down the enjoyment of a site) for which I'll compile a list somewhen, the most unpleasant thing is the unneccessay complication of adding Guest Stars and Episode Crew. Read also Matthew's blog.

As I'm a programmer myself I've made some improvements withn the Opera browser and as I adapted it to the new version of the site I shared the script in my blog, but this method is rather limited to a small group of users and doesn't cover all posibilities to improve the process. Hey and the best thing is that this wouldn't even change the workflow itself, just make it faster and easier

Oh well and btw. the search function doesn't work on fuzzy inputs. You can almost take any Name and add, omit or replace one letter and the first results have little to do with what you're searching for.

As this site still needs a lot of input I think making it easier to contribute things has the most potential of making the site better

Well, the first thing the comes to mind is the front page- I mean I know there are plans to change it but it's been a while now, and it would be nice if we could just reinstate the old page until there's a better one to put up. It's not exactly super-attractive to newcomers, you know?

I hate this button with a passion.

Could there possibly be something in your settings to get rid of it? I'm always afraid I'll accidently hit it someday.

I don't ever scroll down that far on the main forums page.

Don't you remember the reason the button was created? The system accidentally marked EVERY thread on the site as unread, so you had to start over re-reading everything.

Searching for an actors name, and getting a list with just the first name correct. I'm sure it would be better if it was the last name that was searched, and receive a list of names that were the same or close in spelling.

ie.
search: Jim Brower

listed names:
Jim Carrey
James Belushi
Jimmy Smits

Yet no Brower's (BTW, I just used this as an example, not necessarily the actual results)

even though SebDE already stated it, i would like to reiterate the search function for names. i blogged about it a well a week ago and gave examples. the old one was way better. this one pays too much attention to the first name with little or no regard to the last if it's barely off.

i also agree that the bulk addition of guest and crew to episodes will be a valued addition upon its completion. i, personally, am anxiously awaiting the installation of this function.

EDIT: i see chris beat me at reiterating the search function.

This may sound minimal but why are the Post and Preview buttons in different places depending on what your doing.

In threads it's Post Reply - Preview Message

In Composing a message it's Preview Message - Post Message

In adding info it's Preview - Post

I can't tell you how many times I've posted instead of previewing

Yeah, I remember well. I had to restart all my thread looking at-ing. I never clicked the button though..too afraid. Unless people use it on a daily basis (people might, I have no clue), it serves little purpose. That's why I suggested an optional view. It's not important, I just wanted to state what I don't like though.

Maybe it's a bug, but I don't like it when I get redirected to the wrong page when I click on the 'last post' of each thread. This has been happening in threads like tv shows hurt/heal 2.

...And Andrew doesn't like how the first page is deleted, making the thread confusing, and misleading to people who've never seen it.

Yes, this was a problem on the beta site that was never resolved. The search function worked well to find alternate first names that might match but disregarded last names or even did a reverse sort on the results, so what you really wanted was near the bottom of the list ... if the exact name was not entered.

We have a list of "people abbreviations" hidden on the site somewhere that is probably part of the problem, but the Mods no longer have access to it. I'm sure Sebrioth will get the search function working soon enough.

Ditto on the front page, and I dislike the ranking thing being visible on People trivia. I also miss my little sideward glancing smiley. Beyond that, I'm fine with everything else.

For example, check out this search. Find the name: "zaln"

Something just ain't right!
