How about the Genre called "Nature" for shows like "Planet Earth".

For people genres, would you please add Dance Crew or Dance Troupe; there are now so many of them

For show genres, could you please add Courtroom/Legal?

Thank you

As far as I can tell there is not a Forum or thread this request would normally fall under because it may only happen once a year or less?

Anyway I found proof of a show now in Development for PBS titled "On Record: The Soundtrack of Our Lives" that is not scheduled to air until 2010 but the site currently only allows up to 2009. It is very possible the show will be moved up and air in 2009 so I used that year for now but can someone please add 2010 just in case?

Thanks in advance for your assistance, Ron.

P.S. - Based on what I have read so far I will positevly be watching this series when it airs if I'm still kicking I hope?

Recently, genres were updated/changed/added/revised... and a number of 'split' genres were created/combined... such as "Military/War" - including the forward-slash character.

Use of the API to rename digital video files, makes this require a character-replacement, since the slash is a folder-path character, and any current code will push an incomplete filename into a subfolder.

Was any consideration given to the API when these changes were made? Would it be possible to split out those genres, or at least, replace the slash with a legal Windows OS character, such as a dash or underscore?

I, for one, have fixed my code to accommodate the slash, but I'm guessing many are now confused by the API results...

We've had forward-slash genres for a long time: before I joined the site, at any rate. Military/War predates me. So it's been around for at least the last 2-3 years. To the best of my knowledge, no one has mentioned confusion in that time.

Ditto for Automobiles/Vehicles, Cinema/Theatre, Cooking/Food, Design/Decorating, and... 9 more.

The only two forward-slash genres that were changed recently were Pets (into Animals/Pets) and Wildlife (into Outdoors/Wildlife). And Spy/Espionage was added.

We can change the / into a - or _. It's unlikely we're going to split out those genres, though. However, it seems odd that it's only causing problems now.

I don't claim to know much about API, but why are the digital video files using the genre name?

Also, what does the API do with shows that have a forward-slash in the title? Or any of the other disallowed file-naming characters? (< > * ? \ : | ")
