Really? that blows.
I'm so sick of ABC mistreating that show now that they have all these other hits (Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy etc) For 3 years, Alias was the only show ABC had worth bragging about and the only show that won them awards come Emmy and Golden Globe time and now they treat it like trash.

Anyway, any idea on when it's due to return? I mean there are still 13 episodes remaining, they have to bring it back soon if they except them all to air by May.

Here's what Kristen of E! had to say in her latest chat:

From togamax: Any scoop on when Alias will return to the schedule?
Hopefully, very soon! The original plan was to bring it back the first week in March, on Wednesdays after Lost, but ABC did not include Alias in its release detailing midseason programming, so frankly, I'm concerned. But I have a Mickey Mouse-net source's word that they will run the final episodes. The show is just too expensive--and has too much of a cult following not to.

You know ABC will air the final episodes, but unfortunately the ratings for the show never reached high enough for it to keep going.

Yeah, I know they're going to end up airing eventually, ABC knows the show has too large a fan base to just not finish off the series. But the question is when they're going to air. It would be incredibly disrespectful for ABC to just dispose of the episodes as if they were garbage, by simply airing two hour blocks each week from the months of June-August. The show is already closing at the end of the season, and ABC should let the show go out strong promoting the final episodes, rather than letting the show drag it's dead corpse to the finish line un-noticed by anyone.

In my opinion, Alias is a pop-culture phenomena and will be remembered for future generations. Whether people watch the show or not, Jennifer Garner is now a household name because of this show and for the most part, seeing someone else dressed in a red wig should instantly remind someone of Alias. Not to mention it's numerous Golden Globe/Emmy nominations and wins. If 20 years from now, VH1 has some new nostalgic "I Love..." program, Alias will surely be mentioned as one of the hottest shows of the first half of the century.

My point is Alias doesn't deserve to end quietly because ABC would rather premiere a bunch of new crappy-looking midseason shows that will probably be canceled come May. They should air the remaining 13 Alias episodes and give everyone a chance to catch the final episode of this great series.

I think I can promise you Alias won't be dump in June because you gotta respect a show that performed for you for a couple of years. Count on it to be aired in March, April, or May.

I have to agree that the remaining episodes will air, even if they aren't on the scedule yet. The show has done well for ABC and in it's 5th year,, so I can't see them not letting them wrap it up. And J.J. Abbrams is a gold mine for ABC, considering Lost. So I think they will find a slot to wrap up his Alias. ABC couldn't possibly be that stupid, could they? Wait.. don't anwser that.

ABC has done that before, hence the Drew Carey Show, which was a ratings hit for 5 or so seasons, then dumping them on hour blocks in the summer, which a little bit of advertising. I hope it doesn't do that, but this is why ABC is losing ratings a lot.

Yeah, ABC does have a tendency to lose all respect for their long-running shows once they've run out of steam in their eyes. They didn't announce My Wife and Kids (which ran for over 100 episodes) ending, until the end of it's final season. The show ended on a cliff-hanger that will never be resolved. Same with 8 Simple Rules, which ran for nearly 80 episodes I believe. ABC probably knew they weren't going to pick it up, but didn't announce it until it was too late for them to have a decent series finale.

Atleast they gave Alias the courtesy of telling them they weren't coming back, giving them a chance to end the series properly.
