Hearts Afire



Hearts Afire is the story of a divorced, conservative family man with two kids who meets a liberal, world traveling journalist and falls in love. The series is set initially in Washington D.C. where John Hartman and later Georgie Anne Lahti work for a conservative sourthern Senator. When the Senator retires, the couple and their family, as well as best friend Billy Bob Davis, move back to the small town where John and Billy Bob grew up, with the intent of starting a newspaper.

Calling this show a comedy is being extremely generous. This show was nothing but a platform to air the producers social and political viewpoints. Considering the wealth of talent on the show, it is ironic that the funniest moments came from the youngest and the oldest cast members, 7 year old Clark Duke and 75 year old George Gaynes.
