Each week a different host introduced rock-n-roll artists, who performed their current chart-toppers. The Hullabaloo Dancers would provide background movement, including the first instance of the girl-in-a-cage doing a perpetual frug. This weekly rock 'n roll variety show showcased some of the greast musical acts of the 1950's and 1960's. "Hullabaloo" seen on NBC was one of only 2 rock n' roll type music shows in the 1960's to air in prime-time along with "Shindig" on ABC TV. This series debuted on 12 January 1965 and aired 50 new episodes over 2 seasons ending its' run on 29 August 1966. The show was seen in 3 different time slots over the 2-year period that it was seen on TV which included:

January 1965 - May 1965 - Tuesday 8:30 to 9:30PM
June 1965 - August 1965 - Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00PM
September 1965 - August 1966 - Monday 7:30 to 8:00PM

Great information on this wonderful Tv Program of the past.

In my younger years, living only 2 short blocks from the NBC Tv Studios (Midwood, Brooklyn, NY- Avenue M at East 14th. Street) where the majority of Hullabaloo's epsiodes were taped, I was lucky enough to attened many of the rehersals and actual show recordings. This brings back alot of memories. Many memories of personally meeting the Dancers such as Lada Edmund, Jr., Gary Smith and Dwight Hemion, and many of the performers as they entered or exited the studio. Shame a New Updated Version of the Show is not back on-the-air here in 2009. LOL. Read more
