During a conference in Montreal, Ironside becomes involved with an old girlfriend... and bombings committed by French Separatists. Things become complicated when Ironside discovers that the woman's son is one of the Separatists.

Especially now with the annual parade only a few days away. Thousands of people are going to jamming the street. St-Jean-Baptiste is the patron saint of the French Canadienne and as far as these people are concerned, me and my police we are traitors.
Ironside: Since when are you interested in popularity polls? I am talking about an accused prisoner and you're throwing public opinion at me.
Frank Rousseau: Maybe I am. But this is my public, my country and my headache.
