Kaubôi Bibappu

Season 1

Season 1
Season 1 is the introduction of the characters and their separate pasts that culminate with the resolution in Season 2. The layout for it is like this:

Episode 1: Asteroid Blues
Introduction of Spike and Jet. Shows their lives as poor bounty hunters.

Episode 2: Stray Dog Strut
Introduction of Ein.

Episode 3: Honky Tonk Woman
Introduction of Faye.

Episode 5: Ballad of Fallen Angels
Introduces Vicious, and along with him, the beginning of Jet's past. We also catch our first glimpse of Julia.

Episode 9: Jamming with Edward
Introduction of Ed.

Episode 10: Ganymede Yearning
Parts of Jet's past revealed, through his old flame. We see where he used to patrol as an officer.

The series does an excellent job in this season by introducing pivotal Characters slowly. These first 10 episodes start you from the basics, with Spike and Jet, and build the rest of the characters around that. It also puts the relevance of starting the antagonist Vicious and revealing more of the Protagonist, Spike's past before introducing a character of less relevance, Ed, later on in the season (since she is mainly there for comic relief). It then sets the tone for Jet.

The final two episodes of the series, Jupiter Jazz part 1 and 2, are a good precursor for season 2. It hypes up the conflict between Spike and Vicious, and also gives us a little foreshadowing of things to come, as Grim can be seen as a parallel to Spike.

So all in all the first season does a great job and setting the tone, and at the same time, building some tempo to roll into season 2.
