Kolchak: The Night Stalker

Show FAQ
Who is "The Night Stalker"?
In the original TV movie, the "Night Stalker" referred to the killer, vampire Janos Skorzeny. This was intended to be a running theme, as the second TV movie was titled "The Night Strangler," again referring to the monster, not the reporter. The third planned movie, "The Night Killers," would again have referred to the monster. Universal kept the title for the TV series to help assure recognition with their "hot property." Since the title was changed to Kolchak: The Night Stalker, many people consider the reporter to be the "Night Stalker."

In the remake, Carl Kolchak was nicknamed "The Night Stalker," for his tendency to drive around at night listening to the police radio and seeking out cases.
